Exactly. What will happen to their movies if they don't keep their source material alive. Look at the last X-Men movie... people hate it. Fox doesn't follow the comics, and it feel apart. But X-men comics have been rebooted so much, does it matter? Why kill the Hulk, I get his movies didn't go off but he's probably the second or third most popular character historically. Marvel needs to refocus and go back to roots.

I didn't even think New 52 was as bad as this. Nuperman was never given a chance from the outset by older fans.

Nah, it was everything else.

It's one thing to soft reboot, which DC does every 5-10 years. Cool.

But to throw 75 years of history away and replace it with sorry ass recreations of characters with different history?

DC changed it back with the quickness.

I was disappointed....I really liked new 52 JLA and the push Shazam got.... The more cold Superman and the love with WW is the best Superman in years to me. Ah well.

Oh yeah, how have they ruined all the other characters? Like:
Cap
Ironman
Black Widow
Dr. Strange
Black Panther
Hawkeye
Nova
Hulk etc.

Don't have to comment on them all just generally speaking if you can. Thanks.

Cap

honestly, both caps are thriving now. hydra cap and captain falcon are good takes. i really wish they would bring bucky cap back, or at least make him the next citizen V

Ironman

iron man has been stagnant for a while. theyve been trying hard to keep him at rdj likeable levels but they keep having him lapse into pre movie fukkery levels with no way of knowing how to walk him back

Black Widow

shes gotten a lot of shine since the movie, and a lot of spy books, which is right up her alley. unfortunately with her shining, the other black widow pretty much doesnt exist anymore.

Dr. Strange

hes getting a lot more focus on his character as of late, but it really feels like they are trying to turn him into the next stark, but with magic

Black Panther

i havent been feeling his current run since secret wars ended, and i dropped it at the 5th issue. theyve been trying hard at making him look bytchmade, and im not feeling any of that shyt

Hawkeye

im not feeling hawkeye like i used to. i like him as a cocky sharpshooter, but it seems theyre trying to make kate seem like the better hawkeye by having him come off as incompetent at times.

Nova

got shyt on HEAVILY due to both replacing richard ryder and the entire nova corps, but also being a testament to a grieving mans dead son( and for being a complete shyt in his first appearance in a cartoon) but as time as come, hes mostly seen as a suffering kid who misses his dad and seems to be ignored by most heroes. he could have had a good thing with doc green, but thats done, and now rich nova is back in some capacity, but mose are expecting a heel turn

Hulk

first there were too many damn hulks along the green/red spectrum with varying modes of powers, now theres a few. the problem with the character is that noone seems to know what to do with the hulks, so they generally just exist to shut things down. doc green was a great take on the character but they threw that away

I loved New 52 Shazam. He was everything in the Justice League comics and he did pretty well against superman in their only. I wish he got his own twice monthly. His movie will do well, hopefully that gets him put back in the mix.
The heroic age, GTFOH :heh:

At least when DC reboots its a dope ass event event like flashpoint or final crisis.

New 52 Shazam >>>> fake Captain marvel
All the DC reboots have had a purpose, or an event. Marvel reboots because of poor sales. Tells you about the quality.

bruh if they fukk up Nova and don't restore him to dna greatness I think I'm done with marvel for a minute :beli:

Blame Bendis

I do.

Dude stayed taking fan favorites and messing with them.

Like The Hood, Noh-varr, Squirrel Girl although it didn't stick...

Yep, but it seems like Marvel has absolutely no substantive story to tell apart from Ewing. Beyond the much needed diversity push, wtf is going on? Dat damn Bendis making another useless ass story in CW2, they can't handle an easy ass property with Inhumans, continually fukking up with Danvers after a decade, she got war machine killed for no good reason, and they butchered the Avengers.

What the hell happened after Secret Wars and the homerun Hickman left them with ?

Marvel ain't the same man.

The yearly events that really have no long build up and constant reboots..

Hickman left them with one helluva opportunity. They squandered it :wow:

He's ok in small doses. You get him on team books or headlining events then its all over :whoa:
He's good with grounded characters and characters who continuity can be played with . Anything else :francis: :Camby: gives no fukk about characters past history And will write them to fit his story no matter how it contradicts

Nova? They had to revive Richard Ryder cause sam Alexander isn't taking off . Those other characters?cap acted a fool In a vs x and iron man was a facist in civil war. Hawkeye was in a critically acclaimed book with fraction writing it , occupy avengers ? Meh. Hulks dead.

I don't like steve rogers or the Hulk right now....DC would never do to Clark what Marvel has done to Cap.

Hulk has no buzzz... Admadeus Cho, has he taken off?

She is NOT popular. Ice cold. Other heroines are murdering her in sales.

I want to point something out...

I bolded certain comics to outline something:

The backlash IS NOT because she is a woman, or that she is new-ish....Other heroines are selling, including super powered ones like Supergirl and WW

Look at this, TPB sales for November, it's very telling

There is clearly a very real desire for comics starring women...3 of the top five star women, that's amazing. Movies should succeed in this space too.

But I don't see this working and it's all about Danvers, she is terrible and is also why Civil War II wasn't hitting like that. I LEGITIMATELY believe a total joke Squirrel Girl movie would be better recieved...A solo black widow also would be.
