So politico admits the FTC commissioners haven't even made contact with ANY legal representative about any of this.... yet they already know a lawsuit is imminent? They can't even point out a single "argument they're skeptical about" for a basis for this supposedly guaranteed suit.

Just like in real life, you'd be a loser with this bet. Microsoft stock up today. Even in after hours, after this news came out. You'd have to sell your playstation again to cover the losses you'd get from that option play.
on a more serious note, if I were microsoft, if this deal falls through, id honestly consider getting out of the console market (pending profitability of this year)
Sony has bought up so many studios/publishers over the years, just because Microsoft buying a bigger publication/studio now its an issue ? Id take my ball and go home, consider it a blessing they just saved 70 bil

Do these bots really expect these corporations to risk their image and shareholders' money getting into a petty back and forth because regulators may prevent this deal from settling??

I think us gamers just need to say "who the hell knows" when discussing this. Also we can't base speculation on past mergers like WB/AT&T and Disney/Fox because different regimes were in charge of the FTC and other regulators. Anyways, selfishly I would want this deal to go through since I own some Activision stock and day one gamepass would be nice. However, I do see an argument why it should be blocked because COD is the McDonalds of gaming and its difficult to replicate the success of a top dog of an industry.

So is the rumor that the main reason Sony is pushing so hard against the sale is because Xbox wont guarantee COD will be on PS plus as well as retail which would give gamepass parity real? Everything else i've read seems to show that the MS folks are cool with allowing the game to continue on the system at retail. Also, What's stopping them from just saying sure and just make a new modern fps franchise not named Call of Duty?
