Of course the ATL
If Bud really does leave, he need to go to Phoenix. Phx got two AS potential talents on rookie deals; a likely top 3 pick in a good draft, AND a gang of assets. Phoenix is a sleeping giant and is probably the best team for the future not named Philly.

Suns never offered Bud a contract so he's not going there. He'll be talking to MIL next if NYK falls through on some "he loves Milwaukee in the winter" shyt :camby:

No the Hawks need to stop looking like a joke and cut ties with Bud. Bud has publically gone out and interviewed with 2 other organizations, let him go. Why would you want a coach who's not bought in to this team/franchise potentially come back to this roster? I'm ready for the Hawks to show some pride and move on. I hate that his has been lingering over the franchise for the last couple weeks
Because we own his rights. We not trying to win a title next year so we can use his ability to develop players.

If you are worried its bad for the locker room you tripping. Players know its a business and they like playing for bud. Aint like we got some veterans on the team, all these dudes trying to earn minutes and get better.

You dont get rid of him because of pride

Bud won't be the coach here next season and the Hawks need to everything in their power to move on from him. I'm sure there is a compensation package that the Hawks would like but I hope they don't hold themselves hostage with ridiculous expectations on what they think they're going to get back. Take the best deal, get Bud outta here and move on
Anything you hear otherwise from what I told you is fake news. If Bud is gone, it will be due to Atlanta compensation demands being met. Dont overthink it

He pulled out of consideration for that job because the owner is cheap. Didnt want to pay bud what he currently makes with us.
They actually didn't even get that far. They got stuck on what Atlanta wanted as compensation for Bud. It never got beyond that point

Maybe I didnt tell you then. I told HS and realgm. I got word on Friday that Atlanta is requesting a lot in compensation in terms of draft picks which teams haven't been willing to meet. Ressler has no issue with paying Bud. Anything you hear otherwise is fake news.
HS is trash and corny and you should be ashamed for posting there. only letting you know cause you my mans a hunnid grand.

There's no benefit to having a coach who's actively looking for other jobs to be here. A part of player development is building trust and a strong relationship in the organization. Neither one of those exists with Bud and Ressler/Schlenk right now. Why would you want that uncertainty around a bunch of young, impressionable players?

And as for pride, the Hawks DO need to build some sort of organizational pride and be realistic about what this is and get Bud out of here. The Hawks aren't going to get a great compensation package because we have no leverage here other than the fact that we control his rights. If we get a second round pick in next year's draft that would be amazing.

BTW, anybody thinking we're getting a lottery pick for Bud is crazy

Player development won't be a problem if bud stays. The players aren't upset with bud.

The front office understands he wants to win which is why they letting him interview. If there was any bad blood between he and the players or front office then he would have been fired already.

Oh and two years of his coaching > a 2nd round pick. :yeshrug:

Damn, I thought yall boys shredded this thread for an upcoming brand new shiny 2018 draft coming up, no cap. I'm in agreement with those they are trying to get optimal value for Bud or atleast something worth their while.

Kenny Atkinson is being paid 2.5 million annually and his contract expires when Bud does... They need a coach that is good at developing the young talent. Starting to hear they'll let Jarron Collins big ass get a shot once the dust clears.

In 2013, he was working for the Los Angeles Clippers as a scout.[10]

He later worked as a college basketball analyst for Pac-12 Networks.[11]

On July 3, 2014, Collins joined Steve Kerr's staff as a player development coach for the Golden State Warriors.[12] Collins won his first championship when the Warriors defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2015 NBA Finals.

On July 29, 2015, he was promoted to assistant coach by the Warriors.[13]

Outside of Dave Joeger in Memphis and later seeking a position in Sacramento, when has this happened recently in the NBA? Stop trying to normalize this shyt

I love how both of y'all went from "it's all speculation to coaches under contract talk to other teams in the league every day B" :yeshrug:

I don't get how or why y'all would want to keep a prominent person in your organization who clearly doesn't want to be there. How committed is Bud to player development if he has one foot out the door?

Exactly. Atleast Falcons have the brotherhood family type feel. Cant have the coach like ":manny: i hate GM/Owner direction "

Except I don't know what's going on with Julio:francis::why:
