Really the issue is that no one else can play PG. So they're basically running Lebron into the ground and his legs are done, when he should be playing off ball.

He's been bad defensively..... but he isn't even the worst defender on the court lol. He's routinely better than DLO, Reaves, Dalton, and Rui on the defensive end. That's basically half the damn rotation lol

Lakers gotta do something else at this point

Russell can run pg, but he just has games when he make too many bonehead plays, he also gets cooked on defense. If Lakers had Russel and Schroeder as startee/bench they'd probably be alight.

They still need another decent big though.

AD is the best lob threat in NBA history yet the team does not have a guard that can beat his man to the rim, absorb the defensive attention and throw him a lob. All of the guards need an AD screen to get to the mid range, they can barely even get to the rim.

Yeah Lebron is old but this team is not built well around him and AD.

Russell in theory is a solid PG to pair with Bron outside of his defense. He's someone that can run the offense and also be a decent shooter. But the 40 year old is incapable of playing anything but Bron Ball, so instead you need someone that has Elite D, can shoot the 3 and would be happy only running offense when Bron needs a breather. Players that talented aren't coming

DLO is not a good enough playmaker to routinely run the point, he's the only other "meh" playmaker on this team and even then he's not that good. DS would help a lot due to putting pressure on the defense and being able to give them defensive ball pressure

Team has too many holes at this point, and the strategy going into the year was essentially "Bron/AD will fix it"... while Vando is collecting big $$ from the sidelines, while Gabe and Max were their only "big $" signings
