if the Lakers had a legit 5 they’d be title contenders
Man is beyond washed, hasn't played in the NBA in 3 years and is damn near 40
There just isn't any legit 5s out there. Buyout period is done now as of yesterday so they'd have to get someone off the couch regardless. Based on how they've been giving minutes to Jemison I doubt they'll go that route.
But if they did, the only real options (guys who haven't played at all this season) are: JaVale McGee, Robin Lopez, and Boban. None of those guys are moving the needle. All washed out of the NBA.

The defense of the starting lineup is gonna be better with DFS and Gabe. If Knecht can get going, I think the offense will be fine too.
Without Reaves, Luka will probably get into a better rhythm as he's still adjusting to the team.
