I've seen the super chats myself and the amount they make was insane. Easily $10k-$20k per show in superchats. You'll have 100s of people willing to spend 100s of dollars just to insult some bird on the show.
This speaks further to my point on how their revenue stream isn’t portable to another platform (even their own). That superchat infrastructure is not going to be easy to replicate on their own self hosted platform. YouTube and Twitch make it look easy but that’s after years of highly paid engineers and developers. Speaking of Twitch I was thinking maybe they can move their but Twitch maybe even more draconian with their content policies.
I can't stand those dudes but couldn't they just replace the youtube superchats with cashapp?
Their clown ass fans will still send money to them somehow.
Youtube needs to give them the Sneako treatment to really end them.
The consumer psychology changes between cashapp and superchat they wouldn’t make near as much money. First off superchat is on the same platform as YouTube and is likely just a click of a button for someone to send. YouTube spends millions on ux/ui designers, developers, and consumer behavior engineers to make that as seemingless as possible. Cashapp would require someone to go to another device or another tab, enter information, type the amount and send. The more actions you make someone go through the more chances they’ll renege on their decision. You want to create the least amount of friction for a person to spend (e.g. there’s a reason credit cards don’t have PIN numbers).
But most importantly superchat puts their message live on screen for everyone watching. You take away that aspect and you remove any motivation for someone to even donate. And to respond to other people’s suggestions of them making their own site and comparing them to x, y, x. F&F’s audience aren’t really F&F fans like that. They moreso care to donate to have their disrespect of the women on their show publicized on screen to a live audience with a large viewership.
There’s a reason they’re crying. They know where their bread is buttered. Just go on their page and click “videos” just compare their views on their “videos” to their lives.
