Just watched it. Loved it for many reasons beyond the climbing scenes alone.

I want to see it again already

The granite is so smooth that people thought it was literally impossible to climb until just a few decades ago. To climb up 3200 feet of that shyt for four hours when any ONE mistake will cost you your life is insane. If he gets shook for one minute, and his hands start to sweat, he's dead. Can you imagine KNOWING that you couldn't allow your hands to sweat and then actually avoiding it for four hours while you performed intense physical activity? He's got to have some of the most insane sports psychology mindset in history.

Saw this a few weeks ago. Dude is a freak and definitely has Asperger's/other mental issues but is pretty funny.

Movie is worth seeing just for the cinematography and climbing scenes
It was interesting because he obviously was on the spectrum yet he seemed like he would be a cool guy to hang out with. He knew how to express himself and was more self-reflective than most people like that I've known.

He had that powder with him so his hands would get a good grip even if he did sweat. That wasn’t gonna be an issue

Uhhh, no. Nice film, but not on Free Solo's level
Disagree. What Honnold did is insane but Tommy is the GOAT and his life story alone makes Dawn Wall more interesting imo. Being held hostage by rebels at 20 years old and having to kill one of them, cutting his finger off he should have never been able to climb again after that but came back even better, terrible divorce. And it becomes a buddy move with him having to wait on KJ instead of finishing alone. Just has a lot more depth to it.

You think a little chalk is gonna keep you slipping from any real sweat? :russ:

Guys chalk up their hands to keep a good grip despite the oil and moisture that's on your hands just regular. And even then you have to keep reapplying on the regular because it doesn't last long at all. If you're hanging on for your life and you start to sweat, how the hell you gonna pull your hand off the grip that's keeping you alive so you can apply more chalk?

He’s been professional climber that’s been climbing for 10 years. I doubt his hands will get that sweaty that a Little Rock climbing chalk won’t help. Come on man
