All Glass grew on me. :picard: Some of the hardest bars on the entire album. Those violent lines over those church organs. It's almost got Just Blaze/PSA vibes. And that vocal sample that comes in at the end of each verse? And the Breaking Bad sample at the end?:wow:

fukkin' Gibbs went out with a bang on that joint.

Def a highlight for me gave 01-03 rock fella vibes. This track and Baby shyt had that energy to balance out all that smooth shyt. Could’ve used more of this sound.

Album is great but the AOTY and classic talk before it came out annoyed me before I even press play. I feel like Pusha started a trend. Album is great off first few listens the highs and variation off production on Bandana>>>. But Freddie shines, flow is sublime and he’s sharp lyrically.
Alch even said his production was stripped down to allow Gibbs to shine which takes away from the albums potential. At times it feels like background music. I prefer beats with drums.

He has introspective songs but that isn't even really the point. He's good at what he's doing. Ain't nothing wrong with having a style and sticking to it throughout your career. Being multifaceted isn't a prerequisite for being good. Someone itt already brought up painters as an example... Exactly. In any other arts and even in music up until recently having multiple styles wasn't some higher goal.

It's only very recently that doing different styles became this "sign of higher intelligence/matureness" for some music fans. Some of my favorite music artists both in hip-hop and outside of it are artists that perfected one style and stuck to it.

Almost Jadakiss like. That’s why the Vol,1 Jay comparisons are laughable imo. Can you craft a Where I’m From?. Dudes can barely craft 3 16s plus hook songs these days.

Benny a monster though.
:yeshrug:

Prime example.

To be cliche for a second, there's "levels" to this rap shyt. Even with Jadakiss, he at least has a flow that can sound right at home over any beat even if it is almost one note. In the Benny freestyle above, the bars were there, but at times he seem like he was struggling to find the beat and it's different pockets. But that doesn't mean he ain't top tier. He just ain't tier 1. Prob tier 2 or 3.
