Not sure what yall expecting from a nikka like Kane. Everybody not about to be on some 4:44 shyt, and rightfully so. I'd rather you not talk about it if you gotta force it, as itll just come off disingenuous.
nikkas like Pusha and Fred are who they are. And even still, I could still provide about a dozen or more songs each that would be introspective or reflective in some regard. Maybe not to the direct message you may possibly feel you wanna hear, but introspective nonetheless.
Raekwon can drop an album right now and I guarantee you its gon sound like the Purple Tape, even after all these years later, and yet nikkas not gonna complain. Gibbs & Pusha make that "talk that shyt" rap and sprinkle some "honest" moments that dive a little deeper behind who they are here and there. And that should be good enough given their skill level.
“Gangster rap reveals the pathology of its creators,”
Some painters stick to one style and roll with that to the end while some painters encompass a variety of styles, experiement with different approaches. I think nikkas like Gibbs and Pusha are the best at what they do and rather then challenge themselves subject matter wise, they chose to do so production wise which gives their art a different 'feel' each time which is good enough for me. Now, if they were talking some shyt outside of their music and their art wasn't reflective or indicative of that same growth, there might be another convo to be had.
