you think I'm a cac cus of whIt i said about Gibbs?? LOL. I don't fukk with many trap artist. I fukk with a lot of southern artists though. But I just said what a lot of these people on here are afraid to say. There's nothing wrong with being a southern pimp. I just don't like them on the mic. But if other people do I don't care really. I like artists like scarface, dudgeon family, outkast, goodie mob, trick daddy, just to name a few. One of my fav albums is a southern one anyway,lol.. goodie album soul food. But i dont like 2000 southern artist is all I'm saying, they fukked up hip hop. That's something they don't like saying.

When this was announced I honestly feared it would be a quick throwaway EP. Then as more info from @TheDarceKnight and others came out I started to think ok it'll be an actual album. But when I saw the video that's when I was like ok they're serious about this shyt huh. There's money in that video lol.

The intro, the interludes, the climatic outro...this is a well thought out project. I'm still not gonna compare it to Pinata or Bandana...but this stands up to those albums at least, and when more time passes I'll be able to better compare them in other ways. The beats, the rhymes, the perfect features...everything is thought out and handled with care. Nothing is half assed. And you can listen to this shyt over and over not only because there are no skips...but because there's so much variation sonically. From the samples and beats to the raps. It's not just gangsta shyt. There's a lot of personal shyt here.

Is it me or does Freddie Gibbs talk about the same 3 things in every song?:patrice:

Yea he’s got nice wordplay and rapping skills but content wise he’s no better than the next man :hubie:

Maybe is just this album where he’s especially redundant :yeshrug:

That's 1 or 2 more than most rappers :manny:

That same criticism can be applied to Griselda, Spitta, Pusha, Roc Marci, or whoever else you wanna throw in this sub-genre. Fred says as much as, if not more than, most of them :ld:

Yea I agree but he’s a 1 dimensional rapper to getting the type of praise he’s getting in this thread

He’s like a Pusha T level rapper. Which isn’t a diss at all but he ain’t top 3 top five or even top 10

I’d love to hear your Top 5 or 10 list of current rappers...
