I wouldnt be shocked if Freddie ends up top 10 when its all said and done. He making pinnacle level gangsta rap in a era where its not common

Exactly, it's a few cats in here not giving Gibbs enough credit on this release. Beats and rhymes is a marriage, and when it's on it's a classic.

Also we kinda starved for content so it's like what Chris Rock said about giving a starving man a cracker....
Regardless of any opinions on this album, if anything I'm fukking overwhelmed and unable to catch up with content. I'm fukking drowning every Friday.

For 2020 on my playlist (a lot of these I haven't heard yet) I got these 28 projects, and A: I haven't even heard all of these, B: I know I'm forgetting a lot, and C: I'm not counting random loosies from AZ, Lloyd Banks, Evidence, Rick Ross, etc, or instrumental albums by Alchemist, Graymatter, and 9th Wonder

A Written Testimony by Jay Elec and Jay-Z
Price of Tea in China by Boldy James and Alchemist
Descendants of Cain by Ka
Lulu by Conway and Alchemist
Pray for Paris by Westside Gunn
No One Mourns the Ricked by Conway and Big Ghost Ltd
Bluest Note by Skyzoo
Director's Cut 1 and 2 by Ransom
The Beauty of It by Eto
Reasonable Drought by Stove God Cooks and Roc Marciano
Continua a Sparare by XP the Marxman and Roc Marciano
Chain on the Bike by Sha Money XL
Eat When You're Hungry and Sleep When You're Tired by Jay Worthy and Harry Fraud
Green Tape EP and Tonite Sow by Currensy
Miles by Blu and Exile
Ghost Your Enthusiasm by Styles P
Shootouts on Bailey Ave by Conway, Eto, and Kyo Itachi
80 Blocks From Tiffany's Part 2 by Camp Lo and Pete Rock
H.A.R.D. by Joell Ortiz and Crooked I
Coffee and Kush by Problem

Yea you can’t be starved for content unless you’re lost imo. Damn near every genre is releasing steady content

Give my nikka his grammy nomination.

Nip got his. It's Fred's turn.

shyt was lit, pray my soul to keep, dear Lord, lay me down
The SWAT team might machine gun or grenade me down
And if they do tell my people, just hold my babies down
nikka we need to go back to pages like it's the eighties now
Yeah, fukk rap, bytch, I'm poppin' off of poppy seed
My name cocaine, they ain't gon put me in the nominees
Since gangsta Gibbs brought back the bars, I see a lot of me
nikkas is my sons, I wish they mommas would have swallowed these
nikka, cappin' ass nikka
Jeezy used to say "Boy, you one rappin' ass nikka"
I said I'm shippin' packs, I don't need no advance, nikka
nikkas thought I took a loss, but I jumped off, and I got richer
shyt is funny when you think about it
Rolex too big, I took a link up out it
Frank Lucas, I hit the closet, pulled the mink up out it
Livin' this life, p*ssy dream about it, nikka

Exactly. This is just my hip-hop playlist, and like I said there's mad shyt that I know I'm forgetting and don't have on there yet.

But 28 projects (and I've liked most of them I've heard) not counting loosies and instrumental albums only 22 weeks into the year is great.

Edit: @kdslittlebro Real talk this much music was NOT available in the 90's or 00's. Releases had bigger feels to them, and the music was arguably better, but right now is an amazing time for hip-hop if you scout around and actually look. I know cats are busy and it's easier said than done, but there are fukking gems out there right now.

Yep, it was actually GxFR that really got me digging :russ: I was barely listening to music anymore until I heard Tana Talk 3.

I didn’t even know Boom Bap was having a resurgence at the time :wow:

Obv, he deserve a win, let alone a nomination but nikkas gotta start somewhere :russ:

They only gave Nip his shyt cuz he passed smh :stopitslime:, Otherwise he would've just been stuck being a "Grammy Nominee".

It’s crazy how the greatest music doesn’t get real recognition unless it comes from the right ppl :wow: I gotta give Drake credit that tip on shytting on em
