Da truth of da matter is, da Gibbs heel turn came on this site when he started goin' back and forth with Akademiks. Seein' as how some of y'all absolutely LOVE and adore some AK so sides were picked. He hasn't been well liked ever since. His social media antics didn't make it any better yet those same antics are tolerated and egged on when it comes to others. In years past, there were numerous threads giving him critical acclaim.

I said he had personal tracks after that album. I'm saying he's made fewer personal tracks than he used to and has gone full blown super thug. Trying to keep up with shyt like Griselda, IMO. But those guys really did what they rapped about and Gibbs is...well, the son of a cop, whose brother is literally a doctor. This dude wasn't outgunning cops or any of the other shyt he raps about. Which makes this sadder and perhaps more dangerous because he's prob involved in some gang shyt now, with whoever is protecting/extorting him.

Nas makes better records and could rap circles around nikkas in his prime and his first few albums are most certainly full of ducktales. If this music is dope who cares.

Rap fans always use shyt that have nothing to do with the music to judge the music IDGI.

But I'm a 41 year old brooklyn nicca,I would also listen to Rockness Monsta and Fame from M.O.P. anyday before freddie gibbs.

I love both of these cats but I'll just say that Gibbs been doing what Benny is just now getting praised for for damn near 10-12 years. I you're truly a fan of both of their music then it shouldn't be a question of who's the more well rounded artist.

And as far as whose better betweens Gibbs & Benny...I honestly dont think you can even compare their styles

Freddie clearly has more flows. Hes from the midwest so naturally he's going to have a quicker upbeat style. He switches cadences, plays with melodies, uses inflections and is not afraid to experiment. I cant picture Benny making a song like anything here (nor would I want him to). Gibbs has the flows & cadences to make it works and it fits him very well.

Literally every verse sounds different here....

While Benny legit has two flows his normal one and his double time "5-50" flow. Where Benny shines is he has mastered that delivery and can make his bars hit a lot harder. This isnt surprising because he comes from the 2000's punchline era. He knows quotables will make people listen.

India is a good example of this. The flow is what we all hard from him. You can literally see where the setups are coming from. But he has it down to a science where very bar hits like This makes his lines stand out while with Gibbs you can literally get lost in his flow.

By happenstance I was listening to Gibbs' first two tapes and yeah...especially back then, Benny's not seeing Gibbs in terms of overall content and depth. Though he does it less now, Freddie in his more Z-Ro-inspired days was really digging deep.
