Look. I remember when he first ranted on Twitter about Spitta not promoting the shyt. For one. That’s corny in itself. Because if u my man’s I’m not gonna Twitter rant about some shyt I can call u about. Number 2. Curren$y responded and I thought that was that. Didn’t pay it no mind. I check YouTube today and watch him rate the collab albums, then I see him unnecessarily bring up the fact that he won’t do a collab with Spitta again. So I was like ok. This nikka still on this shyt. Then I saw the Joe Budden Pull Up cause someone pointed it out in the comments. Watched it and saw all the shade being thrown from both them nikkas. Moreso Joe. But Gibbs was talking bout him like he was some industry nikka. I titled the thread “beef” because nikkas love sensational speech. But it was def friction. And since Gibbs has a history of literally never getting over shyt. It came to my head to make this thread. The fact that the nikka decides to bring that shyt up every single time the album comes up without even being provoked makes me check off another box on his ho nikka shyt card. Maybe y’all nikkas Twitter beef wit y’all friends and air them out publicly but that’s not typically how I handle things wit my nikkas. But keep goin.

I was speaking about the Budden/Gibbs Pull Up video and yea you got a point with the brackets thing but it's still not really anything. There is no beef or anything underlying. Gibbs just annoying and don't like to let shyt just be. He did the same thing with Jeezy for years when there really wasn't a beef. He be feeling he gets done wrong and don't want to let the shyt go and it becomes annoying. His album with Al just got him a grammy nom and he still mentioning the lack of promo for Fetti which was what 7-8 song EP from 3 years ago. He released Bandana and Alfredo since then which were way bigger. I mean if we speaking the truth, his verse on Scottie Pippen is what put a lot of eyes on him and elevated his status. I was putting people onto Gibbs back on SOHH with Miseducation and Midwest..., Str8 Killa, and the interest wasn't nearly as big as it was until after that verse on CC.

The bolded is something I never considered. Definitely possible, but honestly I think Currensy was just being a little lazy. I wish I knew where the interview was, but he spoke on it in 2020 and said the whole situation made him want to promote stuff more, and I wanna say he did a video for every single song on the OutRunners EP he did that year.The project came out right after Gibbs had that rape case right? Maybe he feels Curren$y didn't want to help promote the project because of that.

It's undeniable that the Covert Coup verse was huge. It was a 32-bar non-stop rapid fire blackout verse. It's not as if Gibbs didn't have any fans before then. He absolutely did. But I don't think there's any question that Covert Coup introduced Gibbs to much broader audience. The amount of people that say the first time they remember hearing Gibbs was on Scottie Pippens is pretty crazy.

That would make more sense if Curren$y wasn’t notoriously known for doing this shyt with most of his projects. He was always good with leading up promotion but not follow thru promotion. After the album drops. He just leaves it alone.
