Interesting vibe in this thread. I was a fan of N/U, but I'm not gonna lie, the gay shyt made me turn my back on dude's music.

It's nothing against him as a person, it's just that music is a powerful thing, and I honestly am not for the strong ass gay movement that has overtaken our society over the past decade.

I acknowledge that the man is talented, but I'm not going to be going out of my way to check for his work like that. N/U was the only material I had of his anyway, so it's not like I was that invested in dude's career.

I was curious to see how most people would receive this though.

Yes he did... he had 2... one charted on the Billboard Hot 100. Didn't do great but Diggy had Singles that got pushed...

Followers on Twitter don't mean shyt... look at Nicki Minaj...

Diggy is a bad example. his fans are below working age. I said this on SOHH

My son loves Diggy as does a lot of kids his age 10. But my son cant buy Diggy cd unless I buy it for him.

His sales depend a lot on whether the parent buys it for the kids. I didnt buy it for my son

fukk twitter Jeezy had like 90k followers when he dropped and did a quarter million first week. Bon Iver had 100k and did well, Lupe Fiasco had a a few 100 maybe 200k and did well.. Soulja Boy has half a million and . Puff has mad millions and did what? 100k? 50 cent has mad millions on twitter and the bank and can't even get a release date.

Those 2 were not getting heavy rotation like Novacane and No Church In The Wild were/are. Novacane at one point was one of the most played songs in Los Angeles, second biggest music market in the country. I personally have never heard a Diggy song on the radio in any part of this state of Nevada.

You guys are taking doods argument and twisting it. He never said 1 million followers equals one million sold. He was saying that its a lie that 'nobody knows him' considering a million people added him on Twitter. Why is everyone bringing up twitter followers and what said rapper sold? That wasn't the point of him bringing up the 1.1 million followers.

Can't disagree with that...

But Twitter Followers mean nothing... you have people like Nicki with well over 5 Million Followers & she barely hit Gold with like 5 Singles...

Jeezy doesn't have that many Followers but pushed nearly 250k First Week...

The Internet is a strange thing... :ld:

Frank oceans following is in the reign of lupes/j coles not no damn SB grown ass men don't listen to soulja boy. And comparing an artist first album to established artist failings is a flawed logic.

They were... "Do It Like You" made it to #80 on Billboard & #11 on Hip Hop/R&B... Copy & Paste also was a strong Buzz Single...

No Church In The Wild only made it to #30 on Hip Hop/R&B but did make it to #72 on Billboard... that's not really a lot of airplay... maybe that shyt was getting play on some urban stations & had some iTune downloads but a lot of people never even heard the song...

Like I said... FO should sell... :ld:
