Meanwhile Marvel has been building up for Thanos how many movies?whats so interesting about Thanos over Apocalypse?im no comic book expert, but from what ive seen Apocalypse is by far more interesting as a character....he was just introduced to us horribly wrong.

I do see him as more of a string puller, where the story revolves around him, without him actually being in it....hes best when other peoples motivations are based on him i think....Marvel is doing it perfectly right with Thanos, but Apocalypse is definitly more interesting:banderas:

The gambit disrespect i refuse to even acknowledge:scust:,and yeah my love is based on the cartoon but after seeing more he definitley wouod be top 3 xmen who could carry they own movie:ufdup:

nikka said what about Gambit?:comeon:

They need to relaunch the cartoon:banderas:

LRM Hot Rumor: X-MEN REBOOT To Finally Let The DARK PHOENIX Fly

I’m hearing (from sources) that there’s some talk around Xavier’s mansion about a possible return of the DARK PHOENIX storyline. Even though we saw glimpses of the PHOENIX in the previous X-Films (X-Men: The Last Stand in timeline one, X-Men: Apocalypse in timeline two) , this time it will be the central focus of the movie. If a reboot of the series isn’t imminent, that would mean the return of Sophie Turner’s Jean Grey, whose growing power would become a threat to a team of X-Men. In the comics and the 1990s Animated Series, the PHOENIX FORCE is cosmic (like from space) where previous films have treated it more like a split personality in Jean that Xavier tries to control. At least that’s where Apocalypse seemed to be going (and as a bonus they don’t have to send the X-Men to space). To me it’s a smart route to go. While the AVENGERS and Disney get ready to battle THANOS and the INFINITY GAUNTLET, it looks like FOX is going to double down on the troubled team aspect of the X-Men where they’ve found success before.

For those that are unfamiliar with the full potential of a DARK PHOENIX story, the PHOENIX is possibly the strongest force in the Marvel universe. The power of the PHOENIX FORCE not only defeated APOCALYPSE in the most recent 20th Century Fox movie, it also defeated GALACTUS in the comics. The mother flipping world devourer. I’m sure Marvel Studios would love to have his rights again in the future, don’t you? The two times it has appeared on screen in the past it has been underwhelming. Brett Ratner made it a side-car story to the mutant cure and Bryan Singer didn’t elaborate on the PHOENIX outside of “fire bird power.” This could be an opportunity to get it right.

The Dark Phoenix Saga is arguably the GOAT comic book storyline. Part of what made it so good, however, was that Claremont, Cockrum, and Byrne took their time with it. They slowly built up to it over years worth of comics. Jean became the Phoenix early on, and they went through years of adventures while the Phoenix storyline cooked in the background, and then things popped off at the end.

They need to take their time. If they rush the movie out, it'll be the Last Stand all over again.
Killing Cyclops in the first 20 minutes :scusthov:
Making yet ANOTHER movie all about Wolverine :scusthov:
In the comics Jean n the comics she offed herself for the greater good of the universe. Here she was put down like a rabid animal at the end :scusthov:
No Nightcrawler :scusthov:

These cats need to slow down. Also, if they haven't already, they really, really should ACTUALLY READ the Dark Phoenix Storyline in the comic books (or better yet the Byrne/Claremont run as a whole).

Reboot it in the vein of the comics the bryne run should be the main inspiration and let's get some producers, writers and a director who are fans of the X-men.

They just rebooted the whole thing 5 years ago, then followed up with a soft reboot 3 years after and now want to reboot again (they won't as Jackman isn't going anywhere) :mjlol:

The never should have merged the timelines. Singer should have just continued on with his original cast/timeline, whilst Vaughn's cast was it's own thing. Should have recasted Wolverine (like Vaughn wanted ) when they had the chance too also. As now they have to reboot again if they want to get Wolverine back into more films.

Apocalypse was such a massive step back. Days Of Future Past was really the best place to end it. They could have still done Logan to get the Jackman/Wolverine specific ending, but the X-Men as a whole had no business coming back.

Seeing all the X-Men get SPARKED as Magneto was giving his speech was...:wow:

Finally getting to see Sentinels, and dangerous ones at that....:wow:

All those years wasted fighting each other, Charles. To have a precious few of them back....:wow:

And then everything was brought full circle, with Logan ending up back at the school and everyone still alive. I was more than satisfied by that ending :manny:

Like I said, if they still wanted to do Logan after that, fine. Hugh Jackman probably deserves to be the one to get the crack at that story.

But they went from that emotional, poignant, touching movie...to this :

:snoop:

Anyways...I'm really surprised that nobody ever talks about the fact that they COULD be reboot their comic line-up altogether....with FF included.

I guess it's truly a testament to how bad Fox has mishandled them that nobody even really cares....:pachaha:

In a way, it's kind of refreshing. Fox doesn't appear to be in any rush, fans aren't itching for it. It's just...you'd think that they would eventually try and make it work.
