Perfect time to reboot the franchise. Not going to Disney but under a new director and vision. The X-Men films make Fox too much money for them to give the rights back to Marvel. Plus the X-Men comics have always been a lot darker than other Marvel characters and wouldn't really fit in with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Cast some unknown actors or lesser known actors. Get a director(s) that will appreciate the source material unlike Singer.

The X-Men are the dominant branch of Marvel’s family of mutant superheroes. Sometime in 2018, however, the New Mutants will become the second generation to get screen time. And now, we know which mutants have been naturally selected to appear in the film.

According to the Nerdist, we’ll be getting much of the core team of the New Mutants who first appeared in Marvel Graphic Novel #4: The New Mutants (1982):

  • - Danielle Moonstar, aka Mirage. She can create illusions.
  • - Sam Guthrie, aka Cannonball. He can fly within a force field.
  • - Rahne Sinclair aka Wolfsbane. She can transform into a wolf.
  • - Roberto da Costa, aka Sunspot. He can harness the power of the sun.
  • - Illyana Rasputin, aka Magik. She’s pure awesome, and one of my favorite Marvel characters
  • - Warlock. It’s an alien who merges with the mutant Cypher (long considered one of Marvel's least interesting mutants).
  • Missing from this list is Xi'an Coy Manh/Karma, the original team leader. Perhaps at 19 years old, the character is too superannuated for this film, which is aimed at the same YA audience as The Hunger Games and Divergent.
  • Casting hasn’t begun. However, the film’s screenwriters have also been announced: Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber, who worked with New Mutants’ director Josh Boone on The Fault in Our Stars.
Makes no sense to cut Karma wtf.

No Father To MY Style.. A Son Unique
fox dont need marvel which is the sad shyt,.

they could easily do their own take on what marvels doing and swim in money.

needs to be done right tho and hasnt been done right yet

u could start in the middle of apocalypses war... utilize back in time parts to change teh future which is really what the xmen is about... they almost have more characters to use than marvel itself

first i dont wan see magneto again. give him a rest.

apocalypse or sinister. shyt writes itself really

i bet all of us could write a sick 5 series of movies that would print moneyyet fox keeps fukkin up

singer out. please

At this point, I don't even care if they go back to Disney. They just need to get out of their own way hire a director that's at least read the Byrne/Claremont/Austin run. Fingers crossed that they'll treat Cyclops and Storm with some RESPECK this time around.

They should let some other villains shine besides Magneto as well. They could use Proteus, they could use the Hellfire Club, they could do more with the Sentinels, they could give Mystique her own incarnation of the brotherhood like in the comics (with Avalanche, Pyro, Destiny, and the Blob), they could use Black Tom Cassidy and the Juggernaut. It would be cool to see cameos from the likes of Sauron or Arcade. They could even pit the heroes against Alpha Flight in one movie (even though they aren't really bad guys).

I'd like to see a fresh reboot with someone else at the helm.

The series peaked with dofp. Logan seems like it will be a good send off

They need a fresh start.

Use Logan as the final chapter and then relaunch the film's with an all new cast.

Apocalypse was very mediocre and very dissapointing. Singer seemed to mail it in. As did fassbender and jlaw.

I'd love to see the costumes from the comics.

People may not have been ready for all that when the first film dropped but now they definitely are
I think they should start with a film adaptation of Giant Sized X-Men #1.
Start with Prof. X monitoring the OG X-Men on their mission to Krakoa. Have the OG team taken out and Prof. X lose mental contact with them which then goes into the credits and once the credits are done have prof. X recruiting the new team. I would keep it exactly the same except maybe swap out either Banshee or Thunderbird for a female X-Man like Kitty Pryde or Rogue.
I'd also have the villain that took out the OG team on Krakoa Island be one of the X-Men well known villains just because a sentient island is not a good enough sole bad guy for a major motion picture. Maybe Mr. Sinister is the main bad guy and the island is one of his experiments.
Then the movie can end with most of the OG team leaving and Cyclops & Jean Grey staying to lead the new team.
And from there you can do the Proteus story, The Hellfire Club, The Phoenix Saga, intro Apocalypse, The Morlocks story, The Marauders...the entire X-universe of stories could be played with in a way that makes them closer to the source material and doesn't require all of these ridiculous time travel shenanigans that the current X-movies have become mired down in.
