You’re joking right? Dark Phoenix introduces Kitty Pryde and Emma Frost and i’m pretty sure they are still around and are rather iconic members of the marvel mythos let alone the x-men mythos. One of the greatest Wolverine moments in his entire history and is one of the most referenced stories in fictional history. Stranger things even reference it.
Fall of Mutants was better storm getting her powers back. The introduction to the siege perilous, the fight against freedom force and the adversary, the death of cypher causing magento to go back to his old ways. Kitty and Kurt believing that the rest of the x-men are dead after the broadcast making them stay in England and starting Excalibur. Come on man the AoA was cool but nothing earth shattering
Kitty Pryde and Emma Frost has never and would never sell like the AoA follow series over the last 20 yrs...Kitty is just now getting pushed after being a pretty boring character for decades... Emma only really got pushed after Morrison killed off Jean Grey and Rogue was kicked out of the main books.
Lol@nothing earth shattering..those AoA action figures were selling like hot cakes and they DECIMATED DC and the rest of the Marvel line by taking over the top 10. Like I said..Nate Grey had a fukking 6 year series..Kitty has 0. Emma? Her ceiling was Scott concubine. That was it.
They e been trying to find a super hit storyline like Aoa since it first debuted.

I come from a time where I saw and knew of the Phoenix Saga for the 1st time because of X-Men: TAS. As much as I'd like a live-action version, I can still be content with what I have.
Plus a proper Phoenix Saga would have to be a trilogy 2 hours minimum per movie.

Kitty has multiple short series that sold extremely well during their time, not all characters are meant for solo series. Storm has never had a solo series that lasted six years are you saying Nate Grey is a bigger character than her? How many series has Dark Beast had if that is the measure we are using the measure of issues sold to determine the impact characters have had on the marvel universe while ignoring how astronomical the sales are to this day that the Dark Phoenix sustain. Name one story that Nate Grey is the center of that touches days of the future past, god loves, man kills two stories that center around kitty. Kitty’s role in the growth and development as a brand is huge and arguing that Nate Grey or the AoA is more important based on sell figures is just asinine.
Emma’s first push was with Generation X which she was crucial to and ran for eight years. Her role in Astonishing X-men was crucial to its success as well. AoA dropped in the mid 90s the x-men has already been dominated the top 10. X-men #1 in 91 sold 8 million copies which is still the record today and the comic that came in second place X-force #1 two months later. The X-men franchise was already dominate and anyone who was buying comics at that time knew that.
Also, the biggest thing about the AoA is not brand new characters it is new takes on old characters a lot like the ultimate universe was. It only worked because of the old characters people knew and loved. It is a great what if story that’s it nothing more nothing less stop hyping it up as if it is dark Phoenix status because it ain’t.
