I don't know how Fox didn't capitalize on making better Marvel movies. That first X-Men was groundbreaking. X2 was good. then it was a downward spiral

:pacspit: for wasting the X-Men

How do they make an X-Men movie with Rogue and no Gambit?
Then they wanted to have Channing Tatum as Gambit.
Wolverine all of a sudden has super speed and can jump 100 ft in the air :martin:
How do they make 1 good Wolverine movie and Ant-Man got 2 decent ones?
Magneto should've been dropping Thanos quality lines every scene the dude survived the Holocaust and wanted revenge. He was inspired by Malcom X but in all the trailers he's some Euro Cac getting thrown around.

etc. etc.

The first two were good for their time, and I get why they went with the black leather and divergences from the comics, because of the era. Batman and Robin was still fresh on people's minds and Fox wanted people to associate their X-men movies with more successful projects like the Matrix. They messsed up by playing too safe and refusing to stick to the OG comics after the MCU upped the ante.

Magneto is a dope character, but he was overused in the Fox movies. It's a shame that we never got a proper Apocalypse or Mr. Sinister in the movies. The Hellfire Club was also wasted.

Channing Tatum as Gambit? :dahell:

Having Rogue with Gambit isn't really that big of a deal though IMO, she joined in '83 and played a major role for in a number of classic stories (Wolverine in Japan, Fall of the Mutants, Genosha, Inferno) for years before Gambit made his first appearance (in 1990). The MCU should incorporate both characters and keep them true to the comics though.

You know something is wrong though when kids can identify Rocket Rac00n but have no idea who Wolverine is :mjcry:

I just can’t even picture Feig keeping the green light on DP. Sansa is a known trash actress, Fox Marvel is a known trash content creator, and I just don’t think Paul wants that stench anywhere near Disney Marvel, even by loose association by inheriting the rights to a finished movie. Feig is one of the most powerful people in HW right now, and I just can’t picture that movie coming out, it’s gonna be weird.

Corporations don't take 100 million dollar losses when they can recoup the money or make a profit.

Disney already threw those masters in the trash... along with New Mutants.

Yep
In a new interview, Jackman, who ended his successful run as Wolverine in Logan, revealed that comics were not allowed on the set of Singer's X-Men movies, and any books he did read had to be given to him under the radar. It turns out Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige also had a part to play in that comics education

When I got the part I remember going into his office," Jackman told MTV. "Wall-to-wall comic books, and by the way, comic books were banned on the set because Bryan Singer had this thing that people would think... he really wanted to take comic book characters seriously as real three-dimensional characters. 'People who don't understand these comics might think they're two-dimensional,' so no one was allowed, everyone... it was like contraband. I never read X-Men, so people just slipped under my door, I'm having to look, I'm reading these things. I'm looking and these are brilliant, because look at the physicality."

Jackman was impressed by Feige's setup, and used his plethora of comics to get a better idea of just who Logan was with some helpful advice from Feige.

So I would go into Kevin Feige's office and it was wall-to-wall, not only comics over the posters, but about 600 figurines of different characters," Jackman said, "and I'd be like, 'what should I read?' He'd say 'You gotta read this one, and you gotta read the Japan. You gotta read the origins,' and so he was slipping me stuff, and we've stayed friends ever since, and nothing makes me happier to know that someone who is purely creative, purely a lover of the legacy of those comic books is this successful."

"You know you hear all the time, 'awww, Hollywood is run by suits,' and I go 'Kevin Feige. That's not a suit.' If it's a suit, it's got like a cape, and it's an X-Men suit. There is nothing corporate about him and yet he's incredibly successful, and I love it," Jackman added.

Some elements of the X-Men films were well done, like the casting and tone. Some movies were borderline great, Days of the Future past, X-2...but Fox and Brian Singer have no respect for the source material.

None of the movies except X-3 are garbage...they are just surprisingly average given the wealth of source material.

I tried to defend it up to Apocalypse...Apocalypse was just so...meh...

Personally however, I still don't want to see an X-Men vs. Avengers crossover. shyt will be wack on the big screen, I promise you. There's no good explanation for them existing in the current MCU universe.

All good to great.

They're 6/9 to me and that's pretty good. Arguably better than MCU joints if you keep score.

It's just the rest have been really bad to mediocre (X3, Apocalypse, Wolvie Origins were buns. The Wolverine was aite/meh)

The whole Fox has been so terrible narrative is really overblown

The bad ones really made the rest get a bad rap by association. Singer should have been canned.

Doing a Phoenix Saga after a single movie with the new younger cast and exactly zero time to build up characters or relationships is next level stupidity youd expect in a superhero film from the early 2000s

Wait the Last Stand actually had some emotional stakes being the 3rd film in a trilogy so that was smarter

Fox is retarded. fukk them
