Days of Future Piff

I don't know how Fox didn't capitalize on making better Marvel movies. That first X-Men was groundbreaking. X2 was good. then it was a downward spiral
for wasting the X-Men
How do they make an X-Men movie with Rogue and no Gambit?
Then they wanted to have Channing Tatum as Gambit.
Wolverine all of a sudden has super speed and can jump 100 ft in the air
How do they make 1 good Wolverine movie and Ant-Man got 2 decent ones?
Magneto should've been dropping Thanos quality lines every scene the dude survived the Holocaust and wanted revenge. He was inspired by Malcom X but in all the trailers he's some Euro Cac getting thrown around.
etc. etc.
The first two were good for their time, and I get why they went with the black leather and divergences from the comics, because of the era. Batman and Robin was still fresh on people's minds and Fox wanted people to associate their X-men movies with more successful projects like the Matrix. They messsed up by playing too safe and refusing to stick to the OG comics after the MCU upped the ante.
Magneto is a dope character, but he was overused in the Fox movies. It's a shame that we never got a proper Apocalypse or Mr. Sinister in the movies. The Hellfire Club was also wasted.
Channing Tatum as Gambit?
Having Rogue with Gambit isn't really that big of a deal though IMO, she joined in '83 and played a major role for in a number of classic stories (Wolverine in Japan, Fall of the Mutants, Genosha, Inferno) for years before Gambit made his first appearance (in 1990). The MCU should incorporate both characters and keep them true to the comics though.
You know something is wrong though when kids can identify Rocket Rac00n but have no idea who Wolverine is
