nikka Sony is Japanese they were making sure that jawn was right.
So they should only hire black writers when they don’t care about quality? What point are you trying to make here?

It’s a Japanese game starring a Japanese set in ancient Japan yet written by whites and nobody seemed to care. We all just enjoyed the game as we should’ve.

It's a Japanese company.
Not an excuse. They want black people money.

I don’t think a black character necessarily needs to be written by a black writer, but if the white writer does a bad job at it, it should be called out. And the solution is usually to hire a black writer.

With ghosts of sushima(spelling:mjlol:) they made a huge effort to consult Japanese people before after and during development. So when the game came out Japanese people appreciated the care that was put into it.

When it comes to black folks they think just throw a prison story and a hipi hop walk on them and they got a hit :francis:

Unfortunate but you had someone calling a black woman a c00n for accepting a writing job at naughty dog in another thread.

This is why we need more black game devs and more black writers in gaming, period. It’s pretty disappointing that the second game in years to feature a black lead character has white people writing for it, but thats really the gaming industry.

The problem isn't that there are so little Black writers that they couldn't find anyone. They probably didn't try. They can't even give a straight answer to the question of if there are Black writers on the game in the article.

They made a huge effort to consult Japanese because it’s set in an actual Japanese area and featuring shyt that actually happened. Which Black Country is forspoken set in again? :mjlol:

Who gives af. If you’ve seen recent gameplay footage you know the writing is the least of this game’s problems. Game is shaping up to be a huge flop

So what do we do about this? Boycott? Petition? What course of action do we take to help POC get positions of power in design and narrative?
