first off that "$12M top guy" is either Cena or Lesnar and they are proven mainstream draws.

second off it would be surprising if the top drawing females (Charlotte, Banks, Bliss) aren't making north of 500k and near seven figures. All three of them are heavily featured in corporate settings. Also, Forbes releases a top 10 salary list every year and most of the top guys are making between $1M-1.5M and that's the top 10 highest. so it's not like all the male talent is knocking down a million while the females are getting 45k:pachaha:

this is terribly misguided :gucci:

Current amount of merchandise on WWEShop.com per wrestler

- A.J. Styles (69)
- Seth Rollins (61)
- Sasha Banks (55)
- Alexa Bliss (52)
- Roman Reigns (47)
- John Cena (45)
- Bayley (44)
- Dean Ambrose (35)
- Randy Orton (30)
- Kevin Owens (25)
- Charlotte Flair (19)
- Becky Lynch (17)
- Brock Lesnar (17)
- The Bella Twins (15)
- Naomi (12)
- Asuka (11)
- Braun Strowman (11)
- Sami Zayn (11)
- Carmella (10)
- Baron Corbin (10)
- Bobby Roode (10)
- Bray Wyatt (10)
- Cesaro (10)
- Enzo Amore (8)
- Samoa Joe (6)
- Elias (3)

7 of the top 15 are female.

She doesn't understand the business.

In what ways are the women treated like core parts of the company? It's only recent that they have even been legitimized in any way, and they're still treated second-rate and that's being generous. Her comments in general are dumb, and reminds me of what Ryback said a while ago.

I'd get rid of the women before I'd pay them male salaries. They could all go and there wouldn't be much of an impact. They are booked so inconsistently that they will never become indispensable. The women's division is the step-child during the best of times and this era is pretty fukking bad so there's no chance the division will ever be elevated enough to justify equivalent pay. Maybe it's by design, who knows? But this isn't an office environment where such a huge wage gap is anything to be concerned about. In those corporate situations, on paper, the men and women are doing the exact same job and carry the same workload. We know that's not true in WWE.

Now imagine Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon having to put all of that into words being the public face of WWE. Now John Cena is the most well known wrestler they have, and still the biggest merch seller. #2 is Roman Reigns. We know the circumstances surrounding Brock Lesnar’s deal. No one would say Sasha generates the revenue they do, but Sasha Banks sure as hell is a bigger star than Ziggler, Kalisto and most of the male roster, though. She’s been frequently in the top 5 on WWE shop. If Ziggler talks about his down years being 1.5 mil, and Cody talked of making millions in WWE, Sasha can’t be at 150k.

They risk their bodies but not on the same level as the men, when they put on matches like Foley vs HHH at the Rumble then they can make a case.

Wrestling is fake though. If a male and female are on the same level economically, the pay should be the same regardless. Look at tennis, although male tennis players play extra sets, they aren’t bigger stars or generate any more revenue than their female counterparts, so the women are getting equal pay.

If they can't sell out msg with the top two women talent, similar to the males, then they don't deserve equal pay. If that's the case why not pay Enzo same as Brock? Which makes absolutely no sense.

This equal pay shyt keeps on getting more ridiculous every time, it get bought up in the different industries. Outside of the top guys, everyone needs to be paid better in the WWE, but that isn't going to happen. They cannot even fill the arenas for TV as it is, but the women need to be paid right? They think the the WWE going willing accept the extra costs, they would have to reduce the men's salary and bring it down to a number that makes it equal with the women, because that is the only way to do it.

In Tennis, the women want equal pay to the men, well play 5 sets instead of 3. Outside of Serena no one gives a fukk about the other women and the women's game for the majority of a tournament is boring.

In Soccer, the women want equal pay, well when you start drawing crowds of 50k+ week in week out and having Asia and the Middle East TV stations pay hundreds of millions or in the PL case billions for the TV rights then yeah sure.

What next WNBA want equal pay to LeBron, Curry, KD and them.

They want more money, then step your brand game up, there is no reason in 2018 for an athlete not to make money from outside revenues. If you're complaining about equal pay in a sales environment, then step your sales game up.

If they really want to complain about equal pay, then get it for the people who do need it, the everyday people who are overworked, like Nurses, Teachers, Social Workers, etc.

The women tennis players have been as big as stars as the men going back to the 70s. No one would argue that Federer or Nadal are bigger stars than Serena in the United States. The US women’s soccer team sold out the superdome for Abby’s retirement. Nobody gives a shyt about US male soccer and considers them a failure. The women won equal pay and deserved it. I don’t give a shyt about the Premier League or anything else in Europe, the women’s soccer team is bigger than the men’s here. Before Conor knocked out Aldo, Ronda Rousey was the biggest star UFC had. You really think great fighters no one recognizes or cares about like DJ or Stipe deserved more money than Ronda? It’s about revenue generated.

Venus & Sharapova are big stars too. Even if they aren’t as big stars as Nadal or Federer, they’re bigger stars than Murray, Djokovic or anyone else

One can easily make the point that the men draw more... and that's a perfectly valid point when we're talking about those on the upper card.

But if it's some shyt lets say someone like.... Baron Corbin making more than Sasha Banks then there's a problem. People will pay to see Sasha... I ain't never heard nobody in life say "wow, is Baron Corbin going to be there?!?! :ohlawd:" :russ:

He may very well be. I know we gotta take YouTube vids with a grain of salt but I saw one on wrestling salaries from about a year ago) I think it was a What Culture vid) that said Sasha only made 150k a year and Charlotte only made a little less 300k. Again, not saying it's the absolute truth but you gotta figure if those two are paid like that the rest of the women really ain't making much, comparatively speaking.

Equal pay is a thing that's not going to happen for a variety of reasons but I don't think a conversation about closing the gap or bumping up their pay is unreasonable, especially for top female talent.

They sold out Boston Garden with Sasha/Charlotte. The biggest attendance in Boston going back over 20 years. Enzo can’t do that. Guys like Enzo, Elias, Jason jordan are much more replaceable than Sasha or Charlotte. The point is that everyone should be on scale based on their worth. Not a male scale & a female one

Not in the last 10 years it hasn't and the women's tour has become boring. It doesn't have the personalities of the 70's, 80's, 90's or early 00's. Let's not forget the women's game had always had one dominate player in those eras as well, it's just the women had more Fight in them.

I don't give a fukk about soccer in America, so we're at a stalemate.

DJ and Stipe need to step their brand games up.
