Andre Drummond isn't one of the 50 best players in the NBA, but he's close if ESPN.com's annual Player Rankings are to be believed.

Drummond, the Detroit Pistons' second-year center, has jumped a whopping 223 spots since being the ninth overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft. Drummond is ranked No. 54 this year by ESPN.com's 215-member panel after checking in at 277 a year ago.

His average score based on a 1-10 scale is 6.69. That put him directly ahead of Toronto forward Rudy Gay and directly behind Minnesota center Nikola Pekovic.

Drummond's fellow Pistons' big man, forward Greg Monroe, cracked the top 50 for the second straight year.

Monroe, in his fourth NBA season, is ranked No. 42 after being No. 49 a year ago. His average score was 7.13.

While Drummond and Monroe both jumped in the player rankings, new point guard Brandon Jennings went in the opposite direction.

After being ranked No. 61 last year, when he was with the Milwaukee Bucks, Jennings fell to No. 70 this year with a score of 6.20.

Postgame Quotes - October 22, 2013
Pistons vs Wizards
Pre Season Game #7
Detroit: Maurice Cheeks | Greg Monroe | Chauncey Billups
Washington: Randy Wittman | Kevin Seraphin

Pistons Head Coach Maurice Cheeks
maurice_cheeks.jpg

(On Chauncey Billups down the stretch): “That’s not unusual to see Chauncey (Billups) do those kinds of things. He kind of runs the game, takes over the game late in the game and allows me not to have to necessarily call a timeout because I have him out on the floor. He can tell guys where to go and he can run certain plays for us. As long as we get the ball in his hands, we feel pretty confident in him running the play or making the shot.”

(On Tony Mitchell tonight): “I think he played well. His attention to detail was good. I think you know he’s a rookie. He’s going to make some rookie mistakes. He made a few of them tonight, but veterans make mistakes too.”

Pistons Forward Greg Monroe

(On first half): “The first few games we had a little trouble starting off, today we didn’t. We relaxed in the second half; you have to just keep that focus. I think everybody that played, played well. We definitely got better tonight.”

(On Billups’ influence): “You don’t get the nickname ‘Mr. Bigshot’ for nothing. The poise, the composure, he shows making those shots, that only comes from years of experience.”

Pistons Guard Chauncey Billups

chauncey_billups.jpg

(On his influence within the team): “I suspect my experience will come in handy all year for this team and that’s what I am here for. I’m here to teach these guys, not only that but I can still play too. That’s exactly what I am here for, though.

(On Washington catching up in the second half): “It’s the NBA so players are going to make runs and teams are going to make runs but I was kind of happy that, tie game with six minutes to go, that’s how you learn to execute; slow down, make the right plays, don’t break the plays and stuff like that; you learn it when games are on the line.

Yup. I'm already expecting to turn off quite a few games in a combination of :mindblown: and :snoop: lol. We gotta give the moves time to gel, and see can we get back to playing good basketball.

Hopefully cheeks is the right guy, but if not Head Coach Sheed

As far as last night goes Billups looked gown coming down the stretch, and Tony Mitchell played good in his time as well.
