Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
Yeah that's why I ran with the most realistic outcome of them moving Monroe. As much as I would like to see them both move Jennings/Smith off the team, I just can't see it too. You're not gonna be a contender with Jennings or Smith as starters on your team.

They're in a sticky situation.

They shot themselves in the foot and Dumars probably won't admit it until it's too late to do anything, at best they can just continue to suck this year and pray that Wiggins or Parker are gifted to them. To break up the Monroe/Drummond frontcourt so soon will set them back years, that's why I don't get people advocating to trade him just to accomodate Smith by playing him at PF. It's one thing to say to trade him because they can't pay their frontcourt, it's another to say to trade him because Smith is better at the PF spot.

I guess they thought they'd get the one that is strictly a PG to play next to KCP, they probably didn't think KCP and Monta would have worked (which it wouldn't), since Monta's like a 1 and a half guard. It's working in Dallas, cause he got Calderon next to him and he's finally playing with a great player in Dirk. Their PNR game is :wow:

Hell, Calderon would have been the perfect guy for this team.

Just keeping Knight for one more year would have been better than signing Jennings, both are backup PGs, but at least Knight doesn't seem to think he's a top 5 PG.

Horrible trade. I'd rather go back to rebuild mold than go full retard.
Right. fukk that chucking ass nikka. When would anybody ever see the ball with Gay, Smith, and Jennings on the court? That's a terrible idea.

Hindsight is a muthafukka, but the truth is that if Joe had of just held on to Gordon they would probably in much better shape for the future. He wouldn't have been forced to use the capspace on Smith this summer cause they wouldn't have it. They also would for certain have their first rd pick too (though tbh,the way their playing now they may still get it). And they would more cap space in probably a better free agent year. I think Joe's ass is on the line this year so he wasn't gonna take a patient approach. He still has the trade deadline to see what he can do, but at this pointi have no faith in him to come away with a solid move.

Wait, dudes were saying that they should trade Monroe because Smith is better at the PF spot? :dwillhuh:

Yeah, pretty much every other single option would have been better.

Yeah breh, dudes were saying to trade Monroe so Smith could start at PF :ld:

The Knicks would definitely bite on Jennings though, probably Smith as well :russ:

Jennings/Gay/Smith

Gay on pistons would be:pachaha:but could work out if pistons turn into running team. This team as constructed won't work. Even when they are playing well, they go into too many scoring droughts. Gay would help. We say Jennings and Smith shoot too much, but who else is going to score. Monroe disappears too often to be focal point of offense.

I wouldn't even wish Jennings/Gay/Smith on my worst enemy's team. I do see your point in that Jennings, Smith shoot too much because no one can score on the regular, but Gay isn't the right option. Dudes would end up killing themselves in your city.

You'd have statlines like this night in night out:

4 from 15 - Jennings
7 from 28 - Gay
6 from 18 - Smith
0 from 0 - Drummond

Smith isn't a terrible PF, plus he wouldn't be hovering around the three-point line as much. It'd certainly be more beneficial to deal Smith instead of Monroe, but I just don't see how they'd pull that off.

Monroe should net a pretty good return to flesh out the roster. I think a trade with Denver like I posted earlier would benefit both teams. Detroit would still need to deal Jennings, but it'd be a start.

Smith isn't terrible at PF, but you're not winning anything with him there, your best bet is middle of the road if he's your starting PF. Also, Monroe/Drummond are around the same age and would hit their primes right around the same time, whereas Smith will be toward the tail end of his career when Drummond is ready.

I would exhaust every avenue in trying to trade Smith, while keeping my frontcourt together. There's only 1 other team in the league with as talented a young (under 25) frontcourt as the Pistons, and you can make the case the Pistons bigs are better (Jazz).
