He also had to answer to Karen Davison and not Tom Davison. Tom didn't care about cap space or making changes (gambling) when needed . At one point Karen wouldn't allow change because she didn't want the Teams value to change. Those CV, BG and Tay contracts helped maintain the value of the franchise regardless of their record. I can't find the exact quote but at one point he reffered to the Curry/ Quester era as having restrictions.

@eastside313 I guess for the same reason most people don't quit their jobs. I'm the longest tenured and top 2 producing worker at my place of buisness. I don't own or run that muthafukka tho. I see a lot of areas that need improvement. But there is a corporate procedure. I need that check, And I enjoy my work so I stick it out even though I know things should be better.

I Imagine it must be compounded for Joe. He loves the Pistons. That's all he ever Knew, and whether he is capable or not I think he feels like he has a legacy to protect. And he wants to right the ship. Dude publicly admitted to the CB trade being a mistake. That shows he is still emotionaly invested. You don't see very many GM's admit mistakes publicly.

Bruh I don't know your job but I would bet that it doesn't pay millions a year and if you quit you may have a hard time replacing it. You sticking it out does not compare to Dumars sitting around behind a figure head gm and letting a owner that knows nothin about basketball make all the decisions. Dumars coulda walked away from Detroit years ago and gotten another gig because of what he did here. The Russian wanted him in jersey a few years ago. But know homeboy is finished in the nba after he finally gets canned.

My job doesn't pay me Millions, but it allows me to take care of my family. Sure I may be able to find work elsewhere. But I have a track record here that affords me perks and other privileges. Not to mention the love for the work that I do that extends beyond monetary gain... sticky situation, I see both sides.

The New Orleans one is the only deal that makes sense. I still think Denver works as a trade partner too.

Dumars might not be done in the NBA either. Billy King is in the process of destroying a second franchise, so he'll probably get another chance if he wants it. :pachaha:
They should be targeting a 1st rd pick in any trade. Cause if they trade him and pick up a player then they'll probably make the playoffs.

Denver has their own pick and NYK's. Chandler and a first for Monroe? You could really take a chance and try Gallo and a first. They might get better even if they don't add a player in a Monroe trade because their starting lineup will be better balanced.

Gallo and a first for Monroe and Charlie v. Denver would have to add another player. They would probably make the playoffs regardless of getting a player cause josh smith would be a way better player at the 4.

They'd probably throw in Darrell Arthur since Monroe would be coming to town. Fournier would be a great pick up for the Pistons, but I doubt Denver would move him in that type of trade.

:what:

gallo is out for the season and apart of next season
It's a big gamble, but he's a better player than Chandler if he's healthy, plus he's a really good three point shooter and defender. They have to get something for Monroe.

Josh is overrated at the 4/is not the answer, we're still going to need another power forward regardless. Smith is garbage, he doesn't have a mid range either.
