At one point Karen wouldn't allow change because she didn't want the Teams value to change. Those CV, BG and Tay contracts helped maintain the value of the franchise regardless of their record. I can't find the exact quote but at one point he reffered to the Curry/ Quester era as having restrictions.
@eastside313 I guess for the same reason most people don't quit their jobs. I'm the longest tenured and top 2 producing worker at my place of buisness. I don't own or run that muthafukka tho. I see a lot of areas that need improvement. But there is a corporate procedure. I need that check, And I enjoy my work so I stick it out even though I know things should be better.
I Imagine it must be compounded for Joe. He loves the Pistons. That's all he ever Knew, and whether he is capable or not I think he feels like he has a legacy to protect. And he wants to right the ship. Dude publicly admitted to the CB trade being a mistake. That shows he is still emotionaly invested. You don't see very many GM's admit mistakes publicly.
