Not everyone has the drive and thought process of someone that's willing to take the risk and have their own business. :manny: It's not all rainbows and unicorns that people like to pretend it is. I insure small businesses all over the DC Metro area and the driving force behind them is that they don't like working for other people. And a lot of them aren't cashing checks for a living, and the ones that did make it to grow suffered for many years trying to get there.

Real world skills > a piece of paper

Unless you're going to do something highly specialized like medicine, law (good luck), engineering, then it has value.

Each day formal education diminishes in value for me. I could've did the job I'm doing right out of high school. And even then, I'm not planning on staying in a cubicle for 40-50 years :scust: I'm not even planning on doing it past 2015. So what was the point of wasting 5 years of my life in college? At this point it's just a barrier to entry used by companies to weed through their piles of applications.
I've always thought that there has to be a way to simply take a test and get credit without wasting time and money. Nowadays individuals can learn damn near all they need via youtube and other resources. One can probably be able to buy all the equipment as well instead of forking over tens and perhaps hundreds of thousands on tuition.

Do you think the education paradigm will ever really shift?

i don't know man
The millitary, seems like a trap for guys who went in and come out with no marketable skill sets. i would hate for that to be the reason you decide to go back in. Do they even look out for ya;ll like that in the civilian sector? Cuz I don't really see it. I know a couple reserve guys they work the same kinda jobs i work lol

Why 30 years? Why not 20, 25, 35 or 40 years? Are you part of a company whose goal is to see significant automatic by the next 30 years? Otherwise, from where did you get that value? Also, what type of jobs specifically? Sanitation, cashier (one that is active being targeted, I'll admit that), sales associates, office jobs? Please specify.

I would explain the difference, but it's clear you want to be right, so, never mind.

Don't expect an answer to this. If you do, they'll cite some "research" project at MIT. I don't think people know how much social interaction goes into developing software. from the

- Project Managers
- Software analyst
- UI/UX designers
- Testers/Automation programmers
- The actual software developers.

people think programmers just sit in some dark corner, come up with an idea / feature for a program and just implement it without going through the proper channels........:mjlol:

At this point, you better off making your own business and passing down wealth. The concept of a job is worthless in the 21st century since automation and insane competition is around.

Look man... Just say you are waiting for the end of the world.....
