FLUSHING, N.Y., October 3, 2017 — The New York Mets today announced the following staff changes.
Terry Collins has accepted the position of Special Assistant to General Manager Sandy Alderson.
Dan Warthen, who has been the Mets Pitching Coach since 2008, will not return as New York’s Pitching Coach, and has been offered another role in the organization. Bench Coach dikk Scott, First Base Coach Tom Goodwin, Bullpen Coach Ricky Bones will be given permission to speak to other teams, pending the selection of a new manager.
The Mets will retain coaches Kevin Long and Pat Roessler along with Third Base Coach Glenn Sherlock who is already under contract for 2018.
Ray Ramirez, who has been the Mets Head Trainer since the 2005 season, will not return in 2018. The rest of the training and conditioning staff will remain with the club for the 2018 season.

I've watched less than 5 games of baseball for this past regular season, yet I've been getting back into it with last nights Dodger's game. With that said, what do you guys think we need in the winter? Should/Will the Mets make a run for Josh Donaldson?

I’m not one of those three dudes, but what we need is simple.
We need new, competent leadership. The rest will fall into place.
I stopped watching after we traded the vets, so I'm not sure if anyone from the minors did well....but I do know that we need a much better trainer. Injuries we're ridiculous this year smh.
As for Donaldson, I doubt the Wilpons will spend a lot. Does anyone know if we're still hurting from Madoff?
Our minor league system is way too weak to consider making that type of trade imo and the big leaguers would've be mentioned would be too big of a hit even w/ getting him in return since half of the rotation is real

As far as shoring up the outfield and infield, I have no clue who's gonna be a free agent so I can't really say who we should go after. If the Wilpons keep fukking around, we're doomed. Best way to improve the team right now is through free agency.
Definitely need fresh blood in terms of training and all that. Need a much more competent manager that isn't fukking retarded when it comes to developing and playing the youngin's.

Nothing will change about this team until the Wilponzis sell the team. The problems of the current team start and in my opinion, end with them. I'm tired of having one or two seasons of success, followed by outright mediocre or terrible seasons that last several years before the cycle repeats itself again.
