I picked GGG to win but Canelo impressed the sh*t out of me. I thought he won 7-5. I get the whole compubox sh*t but I can go down a list of fights where one guy won the compubox count but didn't "win" the fight (Cotto vs Mosley is an example IMO). Canelo commanded the ring the whole night, Golovkin never seemed to really make proper adjustments though his jab was consistent all night. I feel like Abel's gameplan for GGG was for Canelo to tire out but f*ck Canelo was in tip top condition. I think GGG's best round was the 10th where it looked like Canelo was a little hurt. Overall though, great fight, better than the 1st. Both dudes have world class chins. I just felt Canelo edged Golovkin.

when canelo throws a punch, count on your hand how many seconds go by before he starts another punch, in that time, golovkin will have been punching. you cant let a guy fill up your dead gaps. you turn a fight that you dominate, to a controversial decision, where close rounds are scored on a whim, by fans who are only looking at one fighter and so only score for that fighter.
How did you score it?

I gave Canelo rounds 2,6,11... I watched the shyt with the volume off... Now every other round was close or GGG round.. shyt was either a GGG win or a draw.

somebody asked me a few years ago who i thought would win. i said canelo and golovkin meet in the center of the ring in a phone booth fight. canelo counters golovkin a lot, lands all the eye catching stuff, and golovkin throws more punches. i said canelo beats him and golovkin's workrate makes it look real close. canelo and golovkin both did what they were supposed to do, in keeping with their abilities, but never could i have imagined, golovkin would have backed up all night. if golovkin hadnt backed up all night, canelo wouldnt have walked him down all night, which is a very different thing from a phone booth fight. that to me is the difference. canelo was in control of what was happening. golovkin was not. but that is little more than a whim. and yours is as good as mine. canelo landed better punches, golovkin threw more punches in between canelos punches. they both exploited the others weakness in their own ways. they both deserved to win as much as they both deserved to lose.

what i have taken away, which is think is the most important thing of all, is that golovkin doesnt want to be in a tough fight.

your stars are but dust on my shoes
How can anyone call this a robbery. The story for the first 9 rounds was Canelo moving forward, putting in great work to the body, while Golovkin seldom threw more than a jab, kept moving backwards and looking visibly gassed. He came on strong in the final three rounds, but it was too little too late.

Nelo never relented, even when he was hurt. If you can't see a draw, or 115-113 for either fighter, you're clearly biased.

Just watch the fight on YouTube. The judges got it right. Canelo won on clean power punches & ring generalship. GGG was jabbing going backwards but Canelo was punishing the body & head. Robbery is the most overused word in boxing. Watch Whitaker versus Ramirez 1 for the definition. Both guys are average historically & I’m glad GGG didn’t pass Hopkins record.

I didn't hear the commentary for the fight because I was in a bar so I don't know the context of that comment but my point still stands. He wasn't controlling the fight with his jab. Never once did I think during the fight that GGG was "in control" and determining the pace. He came on more in the later rounds but it was still not his fight which is the point analysts like RJJ and Ward are making post-fight.

Here's a round of Mayweather/Canelo of Floyd controlling the round and setting things up with his jab. Something that GGG was NOT doing last night.

GGG my man 100 Grand but he didn't press the action enough to secure the close rounds. That's what Canelo did. Canelo staying active, even if he wasn't landing, swayed the judges. GGG won it on my card but i can understand and agree with it being 7-5 the other way. This was a fight where a draw wouldn't have been a bad decision.

GGG did make subtle adjustments as the fight went on, but again, just wasn't enough

What I'll say is this..I always thought ggg was overrated but in the end of the fight, he did not want to be a loser. They both look tired but GGG found something in his heart to fight back in those final rounds. He was throwing pitty patty shyt and then started catching Canelo with a few combos that connected pretty hands on. Either way..no one dominated the other.

I still can't get over the fact that little g cried and bytched for a whole year about canelo running then turned around and did the exact same shyt. You can't make this shyt up:mjlol:.......only difference is that while canelo was backing up in the first fight he still managed to land the cleaner and more effective power shots. 2nd fight canelo comes right at him and he's still shook to open up. Canelo reduced this man to Joshua clottey:CaneLMAO:
