Bam is still looking great. He already looks like he could be a decent energy big off the bench and the things he needs work on are very fixable
-Has to get a stronger base and use his lower body better to establish position. He reminds me a lot of Whiteside. He was used to being much stronger and more dominant when establishing position so he can get pushed off the block a lot. Good news is that playing against these stronger players has already made him smarter in the post and using more footwork to get past them. I'm also impressed by his patience.
-His motor is great on the offensive boards but he doesn't seem to be nearly as good as a defensive rebounder as he should be. I think this will improve with experience though because that knack for boards is natural.
Okaro is giving me Ennis flashbacks. I like the dude and he hustles but he just can't handle the rock. Too many turnovers. I remember I got on Justise's stiffness and "eh" footwork in last years Summer League but Okaro makes Justise look like Kyrie. Dunno if his defense is enough.
I heard his work ethic used to be shoddy but I still think Christian Wood is a better project. Or I'd like to take a gamble on Richaun Holmes. Kid turned from one of the worst rebounders around into extremely damn good by sheer work ethic.
Richaun Holmes Proving He Belongs in Philadelphia 76ers’ Rotation
Between Whiteside, Bam, Winslow, Johnson, and Holmes...we'd be top 2-3 defense easily and one of the best rebounding teams in the league. All them guys run the floor and play above the rim plus have tons of defensive versatility.
