Even though PG is a rental and Indy curves Miami's offer, I'd still try to trade for him. Offer TJ; McBob, Ellington, and 14th for PG, tell Indy to take it or get a shyttier offer elsewhere :hubie:
naw, if he's not the least bit open minded about the possibility then its pointless. especially considering Indy wants Winslow and a convo starter.

move on to see if you can get Butler, or signing Hayward. I would also look at melo, but I don't think they are interested

This team's best shot is next year, it's all going to come apart after 2018 when Goran will be 32. :hubie:

PG>>>whatever option is available to us :hubie:

We don't have the assets to get Butler :hubie:

naw you're wrong about this being their best shot. compared to what? they aren't winning a title next season paul george or not. it would be dumb to give away your assets for a one year ride.

If we get PG while clearing 18 mil(TJ; McBob, and Ellington), the team will have enough cap room to sign Blake/Hayward as well. Sure having PG and Blake isn't a guarantee to get out the East much less the Finals, but we could fukk around and win due to having two legit stars and decent depth to support them.

I don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but this team is gon be mediocre to ass after this season. PG's/smaller guards typically fall off around the age Dragic will be in '18(shouts to AI and :dwillhuh:), while the East is getting much better, not too mention we'll be capped out after this summer. It's this year or bust fam :hubie:

1. there is no guarantee either blake or hayward would come knowing george is a rental
2. they can't trade TJ until AFTER 7/1. pacers want this done by Thursday
3. you have no idea how good or bad this team is going to be yet because you don't know who is going to be on it.
4. you don't throw away your best young assets for a one year run man, thats dumb and shortsighted

I get your thinking on this, but Good gms don't make these moves unless you are already a title contender.

Im not sure that pg would take us over the bridge breh.

Why risk our 14th pick and Justise on him ? :ld:

I'd only trade TJ; Ellington, McBob, and the 14th pick for PG.

PG alone wouldn't put us up top, but doing the above could possibly net Blake or Hayward as well.

A PG and Blake/Hayward team isn't a favorite but it's sounds a lot better than getting a Melo or retaining JJ and Dion.

All I can say is thank God that Riley, Micky, and Elisburg formulate the plans and take the shots around here instead of our fans. Where did this myth that this team is going to be capped out come from? After next year we only have 3 significant contracts on the books, one of them could very well be traded by Thursday.

If we bring the band back together, we won't have cap space, not too mention McGruder and J Rich are due for raises next summer.

I wouldn't risk the little asset we have to acquire PG. That's a bad risk for a one year rental. We can pick up a stud to fill the PF position from the draft and lock up him up on a rookie deal which is more economical than waste a lot of asset for PG.
