"Heat should've tanked"

Chris Perkins' response "This team can't win a title, but you can't tank because then you'll have to have a fire sale and proceed to need 5 or 6 guys."

Wrist injury out the jump then breaks his shoulder and only manages to play 18 games while putting up putrid efficiency yet still having the greatest positive impact on the squad and in the best lineups on the team yet nikkaS KEEP DOUBTING THE YUNG GAWD.
Couldn't have been that positive it's not like we were winning games when he was in there. We were what 6-12 in those first 18? Not saying it's all his fault tho :hubie:

Since when does a team have to do it like the sixers did where they stripped the roster of anything useful?

What's more important? Getting a penetrating playmaker, like Dion, to pair with Dragic (For injuries) or a solid stretch 4 to backup JJ?

I still say Patterson would be a good, afforordable pickup in FA.

As far as young understated talent we might be able to snatch up for cheap is Peter Jok. Kid can shoot in a myriad of ways and he might be able to fulfill that Ellington-esque roll as a shooter with a little experience.

Not sure they view JJ as the incumbent starter (if he reups) or as a 6th man

Fair point, but if you were to tank it'd be wise to ship off anyone who isn't young and cheap. So with that in mind, trading Hassan; Dragic, Ellington, and Tyler would make the most sense. Trading away those guys increases your chances at getting high upside picks and gives you more young talent.

He was great as a starter or as a 6th. He's so versatile that we could honestly get away with him at 3 if we wanted too especially after the Heat workout plan.

Dragic/TJ
Waiters/Ellington/Richardson
Winslow/McGruder
Johnson/Patterson
Whiteside/Reed (?)

Patterson the same kinda defender that JJ is with the versatility and length.

I still question whether Winslow and James Johnson can coexist since they play the same position.

I know Spoelstra is a big believer in position-less basketball but still with the heavy minutes Window will need to develop finding minutes for both he and JJ2 on the floor is gonna be a problem.

Provided we keep Johnson of course. If hate to list the guy

Johnson is 4 & Winslow is a 3?

'Shrug'

Trading Whiteside is moronic to me. Dude improves exponentially across seasons. He's only getting better with more experience and he hasn't even went anywhere near his ceiling.

Ellington is also really damn good, IMO. For 6 million alone, his firepower can't be overstated. Dude has defenders gassed out and tired because of how he'll keep moving. Spo's also learned to use him properly to make sure he doesn't overstay his welcome.

I love Dragic. I always said he kinda reminds me of a Euro-Wade. That being said, he's the best offensive player on the team but he's also the weakest defensively plus his upside is limited. But the chemistry with him and Waiters is legit so unless someone offers a top 3-5 pick, I'd prefer to keep him.

TJ is still too young to give up on. If he becomes even a decent playmaker, he'd ne golden because he can get buckets. I'd only get rid of him if they'd take McRoberts too.
