If we go the route of re-signing all of our guys and aren't able to land a Griffin (dont want) or a Haywood (wouldn't mind depending on the price), I think a name we'll revisit is Rudy Gay who just opted out of his deal. May not be the sexiest name on paper but he's quietly been a 18-20 ppg scorer pretty much every year outside of his rookie season. Would be a good addition at the stretch 4 imo, especially if JJ gets an offer he cant refuse.

After McRoberts and Bosh, do we really wanna an injury prone PF AGAIN?

Rudy has been dealing with problems in that same Achilles since 2014 and he's always been a tad injury prone and he's only getting older.

Rudy Gay Injury | HoopsHype

We been complaining about injuries and bytching since Lebron left about what this team could be if it was healthy.

Averaged almost 19 ppg before the injury and has been a consistent 18+ per game scorer dating back to the 2008. This organization has earned the benefit of the doubt with whoever they bring in this summer

Eh...the organization earned the benefit with getting the best out of players but we haven't been great at staying healthy and uninjured. Fast pace, constant running, physical defense, and crazy endurance don't tend to mesh well with weak Achilles.

before last year he played in 70 games back to back years. I dont think McThief has played 70 games since he's been here.

Yeah but he's had multiple nagging injuries and he's had problems with the exact same Achilles that he just ruptured and needed surgery on.

He's also also older (Aka more injury prone) coming off Achilles surgery. Unless we get him on the Waiers contract, you really wanna tie money into a 30 year old, post torn Achilles Rudy Gay?

As I've continually said, I always look at what a guy brings to the table. I've seen you list all the negatives but haven't seen anything positive. Do we have to revisit what was said about Waiters and JJ?

Unpopular opinion here, but Whiteside should continue working on his jumper and later add a 3pt shot. He'll never be a dominant go to scorer, so might as well make his offense as versatile as possible.

Neither one of those dudes were fresh off an torn ACHILLES injury on an Achilles that has continually bugged Rudy throughout his entire year while also being 30+ years old.

Not the same situation because the problem with those two were that they were never put into a situation where they could develop and show what they got, not a player fresh off one of the most devastating injuries a basketball player can get.

The Heat have CONSISTENTLY been one of the most injured teams in the league for the past 3 years and we've been bytching about how injuries cost us our playoff hopes for how many years?

Gay is a talented player. I actually wanted him for awhile when he was a little younger and if we can get him on a Dion Waiters/JJ discount then sure, I'm all for it. But not at the risk of losing Waiters or JJ.

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
@Malta , my gamble pick in the draft is Terrance Ferguson. What do you think about breh?

None of these other dudes give me hope of anything.

Very high risk and will take a long time to develop, but he has high potential. I doubt the Heat draft him, their timeline doesn't seem to have much in the way of patience for a 18 year old.

If you're going to take a gamble like that, draft someone like Jackson with your first and try to buy a late first for Giles.

You probably replying to SkolnickRelated. Our scouting director already came out and said we arent taking a 2-3 year project because we dont have the pick next year
