I see where he's coming from. But if I was a producer I'd give him the :comeon: too because he raps and books shows as a DJ along with producing
So he has checks coming in :dame:
But the thing that gets me is do you not want rappers to rap on good beats? Do you want rappers to rap acapella?

If you're good at something don't do it for free. Simple as that. I want nikkas on dope beats, but if rappers want to rap on good beats, they gotta pay that fee.

It wasn't always like this.

But there's a rush going on now. Producers today jump for opportunities because they know the industry is flooded. Everyone is worried about "looks". So the majority of them are getting taken advantage of because they're not handling their business properly. Rappers never wanted to come out of their pockets for music, but you used to be able to make sure the paperwork was right before you hit them with anything. Nowadays, if you pass, someone else will just email something over in two seconds. So a lot of these guys who are pressed for work, will risk it and then end up not getting what they deserve.

Sign of the times. But another thing dudes need to realize is, there aren't many friends in this. The relationships aren't as solid as they were back in the day. 90% of these dudes are working out of debt, so they can't really pay what's being asked out there anyway. And if they can figure out how to get some music for the low or even free, they're gonna do that. With there being so many options out there for rappers who need production, it's hard for a producer to be selective and eat well, but it's the smartest way to go about things today. Times have changed.

The opposite goes for rappers on the come up though. Amateur producers nowadays charging $50 per beat like its nothing when most local and no-name rappers are really not making money like that off their raps/music :francis:
really only a small percentage of rappers and producers are eating.

how many trap producers are there now? the majority of rappers
Producers would be eating real good if they all did this.
I be telling producers on twitter to take notes....

if i can do the roots picnic while doing a festival like born and bred in the uk and switch it up to do a set at tje notyinghill carnival to ultra in miami why not?

then do sets on beats in space on wnyu...a boiler room set...produce for pop stars and then rappers...then release albums and eps that get critical acclaim in magazines like the wire and xlr8r why not? thats just moving smart.

get your music in video games...then go into other areas...

shyt sounds promising...but many are afraid to go out of their comfort zone and end up losing out big time.

eventually I want to just sell out and get to the point where Im hosting pool parties at Liv nightclub in vegas and playing at space ibiza. :yeshrug:

not everyone has the same goals...mine include decadent partying, hot women, and ofcourse money galore

but its baby steps yall babysteps.

I dont blame rappers for branching out into that edm crow:manny:d...yall say the kids dont want it...thats what they want.

dawg. i told producers on twitter to copyright their shyt and save project files and wavs.

i copyright all of my material, ill be damned if a drake sharks a beat of mine raps over it makes it a hit and makes it seem like i wasnt responsible for the creation of that beat cause its the word of a bigger name against mine.

He's not wrong. Right now producers and engineers are the shadow behind the throne of a lot of major rappers. Thugger wouldn't be Thugger without his engineer; I wish I could post some of the un-mixed/unmastered/demos of Thugger that I've heard. It's incomprehensible. Like a thousand piece puzzle that is later put together by a genius.

The problem is that local scenes outside of a few places are dying. All the jobs that prop up the genre - engineers, producers, mixers, musicians - are getting fukked.

Not only is this a lie but Thug demos aren't hard to come by.

You think I don't know that lmao. Im talking about studio files but whatever you want to believe. First you doubted I was black, now this lol.

Anyway that shyt is literally pieced together including verses from entirely different songs being added to whatever song that's being made. shyt is baffling.
