people somehow correlate low-cost carriers to shytty old planes....when that couldn't be further from the truth.

there are planes out there that have been in service for 20+ years and still haven't had a serious incident at all. Meanwhile fresh off the production line 787 dreamliners were having battery issues and had to be grounded temporarily until the issue was resolved.

kudos to the crew of that flight.

Southwest seems to have the best rep and safety record out of all the US airlines.

In fact this incident wants me to fly with them more given they actually landed the plane.

I flew Southwest this past weekend to San Diego and the smoke detector went off in the bathroom mid flight

Some old cac tried to vape in the bathroom

When I first heard the alarm I thought it was the end brehs

i heard southwest was one of airlines that offered the cheapest flights. that was i needed to know to stay the fucck away from them. offering cheap flights usually mean they cut corners in a lot of places. also that the seats are hella tight and uncomfortable.

Southwest is actually one of the most expensive.

That bs they offer about "Wanna Get Away", rarely can you truly get a good deal. Yeah They'll give you a $69 dollar departure, but then the trip back'll be like $259.

I flew to San Fran 2 yrs ago on American for $100 round trip. Southwest will NEVER be that cheap.

Also, I hate sitting next to the window/engine anyway just b/c it's so loud the entire time.

I would've through she'd die anyway.

If a window busts on a plane and you get partially sucked out, half your body is getting hit by windspeed between 350mph-500mph, 30,000 feet in the air.

Stick your hand out the window on the highway at 70 mph and feel that pressure on your wrist and look at the bend, that's what the upper half of her body was doing at 400mph with no breathable air.
