With all due respect I agree with you to a point, but who fukk would pay to see Chris Algieri. Im surprised it did that much. Think about how Marcos beat Broner which was a huge upset, so Im not surprised that shyt doubled the PAC fight.

well, I told him Floyd had to bend for De La Hoya and nobody said a peep. Floyd knws what he's doing and ppl will buy his fights regardless. No matter who Pac fights next, he's not seeing Floyd like numbers again. NEVER

Like I told the breh @seemorecizzy , you can't compare Oscar/Floyd negotiations to Floyd/Manny negotiations.

Floyd's biggest ppv fight ever, before fighting DLH, was 374k vs Judah. Pacquiao has multiple million buy PPVs and is easily the 2nd biggest draw in the sport next to Floyd at #1.

Oscar had every right to anything he wanted in negotiations because Floyd wasn't even a top draw when he fought Oscar while Floyd/Manny is negotiations between #1 vs #2....very different circumstances.

You're also right about Pacquiao never seeing this type of money again....but neither will Floyd. That's why they need to just make this fight

Yeah, Floyd is a Showtime fighter and a bigger draw than Manny.

I would split those rights at 60/40 as well (at max instead of 65/35), but no way in the world does HBO deserve an equal share, because "their" fighter isnt even getting equal money.

Funny thing is, Manny doesnt even HAVE an exclusive deal with HBO, he could fight on Showtime and Showtime PPV could take 100% of the shares truthfully.....it's all on Arum/TR who has the "working relationship" with HBO, so he wants to include them in the mix:mjpls:

  1. aka a way for him to make money and report made up numbers and estimates by ButterDan Rafael. Never heard of this. Showtime owns Floyd and all fights belong to Showtime. Period. HBO didn't press Arum to make thew fight and accepted all excuses and even had his peeps go after FLoyd cuz he wouldn't fall in line. After seeing what happened to Tyson, Ali, Holyfield, Roy Jones and countless others, I have no choice but to root for FLoyd to get his money. Look at Roy now dawg. Tell me it's not sad. Dude gave his life to boxing and look at him now taking any kinda money to get in the ring. Floyd bossing up will shape the fighter's mind forever. Can you imagine Don King was paying a fighter 20k for a fight on tv ? Then he made 35k sparring FLoyd ? Ridiculous

Boxing is stressful brehs. I blame everyone involved for this fight not happening. Im starting to think that they will never fight. Truth be told, I don't care. I think the young nikkas like Broner, Garcia, Canelo, Walters, WIlder, Crawford will hold it down when MAY, PAC, WLAD, and them other old nikkas retire.

On the subject of PPV, I feel that this match up never happening sums up an entire era of boxing. With millions on the table and these mangers/promoters in everyone's pockets the shyt is harder to make happen. You got fans talking about PPV numbers like rap fans talk about album sales. The fukked up part is that back in the day none of that shyt mattered. Man, we need a single governing body in boxing. One organization that forces certain fighters to fight one another, or strips them of their belts. Imagine what that type of organization could make happen. But at the same time, we need to rid ourselves of BOTH Arum and Haymon. All those BS fights they give us like Salka vs Garcia and PAC vs Chris A. That shyt fukks up the sport because nikkas aint fighting the best any more. If these alphabet soup organization started t force the champs to fight one another, the promoters would be forced to work together. I hope one big time fighter leads the way and says to hell with these promoters. Imma fight the nikkas I wanna fight.
