Real talk, Manny Pacquiao is one of the greatest boxers of my lifetime. I like watching both him and Floyd fight and hopefully they soon announce that 2 of the GOATs will finally be facing off in the GOAT Boxing Event of our lifetime on May 2nd, 2015.
We all Boxing fans in here. No matter which stanbase we belong to, we all love this beautiful sweet science. I'm pretty sure, just like me, all of y'all are the most knowledgeable boxing head in your circle and come here to congregate amongst other boxing heads who can discuss the sport while talking shyt to pump the fights up as a rivalry
I say that to say this, if this Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao fight really happens, it's gonna put Boxing back in the forefront for a while and we deserve it fellas

In order for there to be a fight of this magnitude on May 2, any deal would almost certainly have to be wrapped up no later than early February and the clock is ticking.

Floyd Mayweather Sr., father and trainer for WBC/WBA welterweight and junior middleweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr., hopes the mega-fight will happen with WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao.
There are ongoing negotiations to make Mayweather-Pacquiao on May 2nd from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Reportedly the two fighters have already agreed on several important items, including a monetary split of 60-40 in favor of Mayweather.
"Everybody keeps talking about the fight. To be honest, myself personally, I really don't know [if it will happen]. This thing has been playing out like this for years, and who's to say it ain't gonna be played out some more," Mayweather Sr. told BoxingScene.com. "If they going to do it, they better get ready to do it right now with whatever is left in their bodies."
"I think it would be very crazy if they don't get on it right away, because this is something that should take place."

bolded is incorrect..this was a great breakdown in the pac-algieri thread from @Yuzo on pacquiao's jab and why its risky to jab with him..pac can box..you can't do what he does and not be able to box
they were wondering where algeiri jab was and i think it was krack that was the one with the good eyes in the fight thread and saw that pacquiao was taking the jab away.
this was what they were working on in the pacquiao dressing room before the fight and i was wondering what the adjustment was going to be for algieri and when pacquiao throws that counter at algieri one time the adjustment was dont use the jab. every jab algieri would throw he had to worry about that counter and there were a lot of big parts in the fight that algeiri should have pumped the jab a lot more but was scared to get hit and just covered up and got moved back by pacquiao which was the pattern of the fight.
that knockdown in the ninth that dropped algieiri hard was because algieri tried to throw a check hook over the top of a pacquiao jab. when fighters bite on pacquiao jab he likes to drop the left hand on them. that was how he knocked out hatton.
its dangerous to jab with pacquiao. that was also how pacquiao knocked down barrera and how he knocked down marquez twice in that first round when they first fought. thats how corrie sanders was lighting up wlad. when you try to counter on the southpaw jab you freeze just long enough to get hit with that quick southpaw left hand up the middle. just a beautiful sneaky little punch.
My man wlad was too green
