MACAU – The camp of Manny Pacquiao assured Floyd Mayweather that they’re willing to give in to possible demands by the American fighter if that’s what it takes to make a megabuck showdown happen.
Pacquiao’s adviser Michael Koncz made the assurance on behalf of the Filipino icon, saying his client would even agree to let Mayweather get the bulk of the money involved in the fight.
"We're very reasonable," Koncz said after Pacquiao routed Chris Algieri Sunday at the Cotai Arena inside The Venetian Macao here in a fight that saw the challenger get knocked down a jaw-dropping six times.
"I don't want to throw numbers out because that is going to hurt our negotiation. But we're very reasonable. We're not expecting to get the lion's share and if we have to give a little bit to get the fight, then we'll do it," he added.
Interest about a Mayweather-Pacquiao showdown once again reached an all-time high following Pacquiao’s dominant performance, with Top Rank chief Bob Arum expressing optimism that the super bout can be made in the next six months.
Pacquiao himself declared he wants the fight – and this time he is pressing hard for it unlike before. He called out Mayweather at Sunday’s post-fight presser and prior to that, he even starred in a Foot Locker commercial alluding to a much-awaited clash with Mayweather.

But Koncz stressed everything is still up to the undefeated Mayweather, widely recognized as the top pound-for-pound fighter in the planet today.
"If this fight is going to happen, it's because Floyd wants it to happen," Koncz continued. "It's not going to matter what we want, it's not going to matter what HBO wants, what Arum wants, or what (former Golden Boy CEO Richard) Schaefer wants. The fight is going to happen because Floyd wants it."
"We've been trying to get this fight done for the past six or five years. So until I hear something from Floyd, I don't hold high hopes," he also said.

I hope they're being honest.

No excuses for Floyd if the latest articles are true  NO EXCUSES NOT TO GET THIS FIGHT MADE!!!!

We really need to get a petition going to not watch either of their fights going forward if they do not fight each other next. We hold the power :obama:

If Manny Pacquiao beats Floyd Mayweather.... @Black_Jesus gets a free pass to talk shyt at will about Floyd Mayweather until they fight again. Period:birdman:

Floyd can NOT lose to Manny Pacquiao....at least not the 1st fight.

the fight is not happening. Pac-Marquez V is the next fight. Peep the promo

-After a dominant performance by the most powerful fighter over an undefeated warrior. He scored 6 KDs and almost had his first TKO in years *shows Algieri getting worked and doing backflips*. Manny is now back to avenge his worst loss of his career *shows Marquez punch, not the KO*. *cuts to Manny in broken ENglish* " I want tooooooo... AVENGE huuuuuuh... that loss. I was distracted and DID NOT uuuuuuuh train seriously. BUT noooooow... I m ready... TO FIIIIGHT " *nods head*

Then you'll see lying ass Roach with his head tilted right "After the Algieri fight, Manny told me if we can't get Floyd, He wants Marquez. He's still thinking about that loss.I have never seen him so eager on getting a fight done. He looked at me and told me I WANT THAT FIGHT"

Then, he'll parade around saying FLoyd is scared and Floyd is next to promote his fight meanwhile Arum is already looking at the next hypejob he can pick and weightdrain for Manny.

The part that kills me is "knowing it wont happen" What exactly is happening that makes this fight an automatic impossibility? The Arum thing?

Easy work? According to Floyd, yes
Money? Biggest fight available
Legacy? This is the only fight that matters

Breh, if he goes 49-1 with a W-L-W against Manny with the 3rd fight being a solo contract mega fight, he really would have a top 10 argument. Not sure where he ranks without this fight.

I dont disagree with that. At this point that seems like the most logical interpretation. Neither camp has shown us they are really serious to actually make the fight.

I will say that Pacquiao's team is better at this type of PR. I would say they "market" the idea of the fight better.

If there was a poll among casuals and average sports fans who do you think they believe is the ducker? I have felt that whether it is the hatred for Floyd or Manny's teams marketing that more average people consider it to be Floyd.

its true
most people dont know the real story
a lot of it has to do with mayweather giving no fukks about the media
while arum ( a lawyer) goes around telling lies and putting up a front and saying the right things at the right time
floyd will listen to the bullshyt and give the:yeshrug::what: and then go to the strip club with the money team

This is the same guy that said he'll fight Floyd for charity, got offered $40 million and said no I want 50/50...

Bob and Manny do this shyt all the time when he's got a fight...They throw Floyd's name around to get attention and build hype hoping that will transpire to better PPV numbers for Manny's upcoming fight...

Pacquiao offered $80M, Floyd Jr. $100M for fight

by Nick Giongco and Joseph Jubelag
November 25, 2014 (updated)

Alabel, Sarangani – Manny Pacquiao arrived here to a hero’s welcome Monday and said a fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. might happen in May next year with him getting a guaranteed prize of $80 million.

Mayweather, on the other hand, will get $100 million.

How much each fighter will get from the pay-per-view proceeds has not been ascertained but if the bout happens, this is expected to be the richest fight in the history of boxing.

“Negotiation is now underway to finalize the fight between me and Mayweather hopefully to happen in May next year,” Pacquiao told a press conference here Monday after arriving from Macau on an AirAsia chartered flight after scoring a unanimous decision over American Chris Algieri on Sunday.

Pacquiao said the prize money, which in pesos would amount to roughly R3.5 billion in current exchange rate, is not important.

What he wants, he said is for the fight to be held so the boxing world will finally see the bout they have been waiting for.

Pacquiao’s trainer Mike Koncz, meanwhile, said on Monday that while talks are taking place to put together a super fight between the Filipino and the brash and unbeaten American fighter, he is quite unsure if it’s going to happen.

“Until I hear something from Floyd, I don’t hold high hopes,” said Koncz just before Team Pacquiao headed back to General Santos City on an AirAsia chartered flight.

Koncz knows that Mayweather holds a slight edge in the negotiations that is why they are amenable to compromise some aspects.

But it doesn’t mean Pacquiao is coming in cheap.

“I don’t wanna to throw numbers out because that’s going to hurt our negotiations. We are not expecting to take the lion’s share. Do we have to give a little bit to get the fight? We’ll do that,” he said.

Koncz said Pacquiao has gotten tired of being asked by questions not only from the media but by ordinary people just wherever they go.

“The main reason is that Manny is getting tired of everybody asking him.

Of course, fighting Mayweather will give him substantial money. But that’s not the driving force behind it. He’s an entertainer. He wants to entertain people. That’s why he wants to get that fight.”
