I'm a fan but his fights put me to sleep. He's similar to Lebron, Bron focuses on stats while May focuses on defense which makes both of them boring to watch.

:to: What happened to matches like Ali vs Frazier or Ali vs Foremen?? Or even Tyson vs Holyfield? Those matches were action packed.

I can see both sides of this argument.

I love watching Floyd fight just because of his pure excellence in regards to skill, but at the same time I don't really anticipate his fights that much because I never have any doubt that he's going to win.

At this point it's like watching the Miami Heat play. I watched every one of those games against the Bucks because I love watching excellent basketball played, but the outcome of the games was never in doubt.

Any sane person would rather see a back-and-forth fight between two elite fighters where you have no idea who will win, just like you want to see two elite basketball teams play to the buzzer, but sometimes that simply isn't possible because someone is so incredible at their craft, so you just have to appreciate what you get.

But just like that's not LeBron and the Heat's fault, it's not Mayweather's fault that his opponents aren't on his level.

Edit: And, honestly, I don't see how people are complaining about this shyt NOW. Floyd has had 44 fights, he's been a megastar for at least six years, and has been a top focal point of even casual boxing fans for over a decade. You know what you're going to get from him. And these last few fights he's given us more action than we're used to from him.

These fans trip me out whenever they see Floyd moving and showing great ring generalship. They want him to morph into a punching bag like Arturo Gatti just so nikkas can be :gladbron: all night. The name of the game is to hit and not get hit. I was :blessed: seeing Floyd throw beautiful straight right hands up the middle on Guerrero all night. If he didn't hurt his hand he probably would've finished him off in the late rounds. Just appreciate greatness you witness and stop looking for phony ass drama. If you wanna see club fighters watch ballroom boxing or Friday night fights.

These days Floyd's reflexes and hand speed are so ridiculously beyond his opponents that his fights are boring.

Tonight I saw him stand flat footed within arm's length of Guerrero, and either get off first, or just move away when Guerrero went to punch. Floyd pretty much looked at him for a cumulative 20 minutes of the 36 minutes, daring him to punch fast enough, and when he didn't, he ate a potshot.

I'm not saying that it's not impressive, just that as a boxer and a boxing fan what is supposed to be entertaining about that.

Give me a Roy Jones Jr, Tyson, PAC any day. But I have no problem with anyone who enjoys seeing Floyd put in work.

I just hope everyone in here talking about Floyd's greatness weren't the same one complaining about GSP. :mjpls:

It's like the old school Roy Jones hate from the late 90s and early 2000s....he destroys everyone and since he isn't touched and does it for 12 rounds, it's all of a sudden "boring". Bah..that's a simple perception. No one at those levels and that's why they can get away with the shyt they do in the ring.

Lol, you don't understand what i'm trying to say. I know all of that that's why Floyd's defense is GOAT. I just wish he was a bit more gully along with his flawless boxing skills...that's it.

fukk that :heh: pacquio tried to be gully look what happened 1 lucky punch could end your career

This is a typical response from a casual fan or a manny pactard fanatic.

The beauty of the way Mayweather boxes especially this go round was his defense.

His last fight with Cotto he proved otherwise by staying in the pocket and trading shots. Most peopel thought his legs were shot but obviously that isn't the case now.

The moment he decides to trade punches with Guerrero and take too much punishment he would be labeled a fight with shot mobility.

So its basically damned he he do damned if he don't.

The problem is that Boxing needs these casual fans though breh.

I have no problem with Manny. My interest in boxing has died. I can sit back and appreciate all the technical quality of a GSP when it comes to MMA, but I don't have it in me anymore to watch someone do the same with Boxing anymore. The Klitscho brothers almost buried Boxing to the ground for me.
