They definitely have a better resume than Bama, lost two weeks before Bama did, and lost to a better team than Bama did. I don't understand how Bama is ahead of them at this point. If Bama beats Georgia this weekend and wins the SEC than you could move Bama ahead of them, but as of week 14 they shouldn't be.

As far as comparing them to Notre Dame, one is undefeated while playing a legit schedule and the other has a loss so I don't see how an argument should be made

The media dikkriding for 'Bama is reaching epic proportions. It's like their loss at home didn't mean anything because the media's fashioning them into a dynasty. I actually think Oregon and Florida are the best teams in the country, but they didn't handle their business so :manny:
Just be happy Ohio St. is ineligble or we'd be forced with a OSU vs. ND championship game :snoop:

Two weeks ago FLorida should have lost to Lousiana at HOME and you nikkas really gonna complain:wtf:

ND should of lost to Pittsburgh (BYU and Purdue) if you want to use that logic

UF:
Has played 5 teams currently ranked in the top 13.
Has beaten 4 of them
  • LSU - Then #4, now #7
  • South Carolina - Then #7, now #10
  • Texas A&M - Now #9, shoo-in Heisman winner QB, beat #1 Alabama.
  • FSU - Then #10, now #13

We lost to UGA in a rainy game with a ton of mistakes. Kudos to UGA for being the better team that day, but if that matchup is played 10 times, UF wins at least 5/10. The teams are too similar for that NOT to be the case.

Notre Dame:
Has played TWO teams currently ranked in the top 13.
  • Stanford - Ranked #8. Previously #17. Beat that team in one of the most objectively poorly-officiated games of the season. The errant spot? Yeah, okay.
  • Oklahoma - Ranked #11. Previously #8. An overrated offense led by an inconsistent Heisman never-was. Landry Jones never lived up to his hype and was overshadowed by almost all of his peers this year, including Geno Smith.
  • Michigan - A one-trick-pony team relying on a "do everything" QB. Currently ranked 19th. Lost to every ranked opponent they played this year.
  • Michigan State- Not even ranked anymore. I rest my case.
  • USC - Not ranked anymore. An infamously poorly-coached, over-ranked team that took ND to the limit without their star quarterback.

:manny:

1. we do have a stronger resume that everybody in the country

2. we lost to UGA while they (Notre Dame) are undefeated

3. the UGA game wasn't rainy, it didn't rain at all actually cause I was there

4. just be happy we finished 11-1 in a year where we didn't see this coming at all.

Why was your cut off point the Top 13? How many ranked teams have both played? Who has the better record?

Who lost at home?

Who played Jacksonville State? Lousiana? :scusthov:

Who beat 10 eligble bowl teams?

Who beat the probable Pac-10 and Big 12 champs?

Maybe they should have tried to fit another real team in there instead of Divison 2 bums to pad their stats :troll:

Besides y'all being undefeated, me and you both know that we played a way tougher schedule this season but that's no slight to y'all, y'all surely played tougher schedule than Bama and Georgia. It doesn't matter though, i'm just happy to be 11-1 :manny:

So Coach Saban doesn't think Florida should be in the BCS because they didn't win their division....amazing what a difference a year makes

:smugfavre:

If anything I think UFs resume overall is better than Alabama and Georgia. I'm just glad they lost to UGa.

dap and +rep.

Resumes aren't close. ND should have been treated like the Boise teams or Utah who were left out of the title picture.

Boise never beat teams like Stanford, Oklahoma, USC, Michigan, etc all in one season.

Say what you will, but ND deserves to be in the national title game.

Florida lost.

Do they deserve to be #2 , I'd say so.

If you can't name at least Gillislee than I question how much ball you are watching.

I've heard of him of course, but cant tell you his number. :manny:

How many ranked teams have both played?

If you mean teams that were ranked at game time, ND doesn't win there. It's same amount...except OUR ranked teams >> your ranked teams, with the exception of Tennessee.

Who has the better record?

Against worse teams? You do.

Who lost at home?

Are you referring to the UGA loss? Because that wasn't a home game. That was in Jacksonville.

Who played Jacksonville State? Lousiana? :scusthov:

...

Maybe they should have tried to fit another real team in there instead of Divison 2 bums to pad their stats

...except Jacksonville State and Louisiana Lafayette are both D-I teams. We played South Carolina, LSU, and UGA all in the space of a month. All stout teams that could have competed in the national championship. All of the "studs" on your schedule played disappointing football basically from the jump.

Who beat 10 eligble bowl teams?

Stupidest criterion ever.

Who beat the probable Pac-10 and Big 12 champs?

...no SEC? Unimpressive.

Boise never beat teams like Stanford, Oklahoma, USC, Michigan, etc all in one season.

Michigan was 8-4 in a down year for the B1G. USC was 7-5 and ND beat them without Barkley.

Stanford is ND's best win followed by OU.

Lets look at 2006 as an example. Boise crushed a 10-win Oregon St. team. They beat an 11-win Hawaii team. They won @ Utah. They won @ Nevada. Then they won against Oklahoma in the bowl game.

Is there that much of a difference between what Boise did and what ND did?

ND struggled with BYU, Purdue, triple OT with Pitt...

Yes, they went undefeated and they deserve to have a chance to play for the title but so did Boise. The only reason ND gets the shot and not Boise is because of past rep. That's it.
