if you make the thread, we will follow (I know that I will). Because I think people just need to get pointed in the right direction. It's one thing to say.. "black people should do this or black people need to".. but I also think it's helpful to actually provide general guidance and instruction to motivate people to do so. Like a poster mentioned - there's a lack of resources and people have that defeated mentality, the educational system sucks.. etc. There's a lot of information out there but it can get overwhelming to someone who can't even navigate the web properly, google this and that.. you come back with millions of hits. The constant attention - to Instagram, fb, twitter.. etc is nothing but "escapism".

You talk about what you're doing and that's great for you.. it's commendable but those who have the knowledge and ability should be in a position to share, you know, following that 'each one, teach one mentality'. I get your point, they're valid-- everyone should have the ability to rise above their circumstances instead of feeling stagnated.

@Wild self - we were just talking about this.

I say still go ahead and get your degree because it will look good no matter what direction you take in life, even in Freelancing. BUT, it's definitely not the only way any more.

Honestly, I only post this kinda shyt on here when I get irritated at certain comments like some I saw in this thread, so I've never really had the time or thought about putting something together and showing step-by-steps ways in a thread.

At this point I do feel comfortable doing that though because I'm at the point where I don't feel like my toes would be stepped on, so maybe when I get some down time I'll make a thread and throw some pointers out there.

There's no magic to any of it...it's all what you learn and how much effort you put into it. You can watch all the videos and take all the classes in the world but this shyt still takes time and effort to even learn the process of successfully bidding on jobs through Freelance sites or getting people to give you your first assignment or two.

I'm not rich or wealthy or nowhere near it, but like I was saying above, I did appraisal management for 5 years and last year I made a little bit more online than I ever made in a year doing that, all while being able to create my own little schedule, being able to be with the kids more, play the game more, smoke more, etc...

You definitely will do so. There is money with freelancing writing and blogging. Especially over controversial stances.

I agree with this however I believe that a homeless person in the Northeast (NY, Philly, Baltimore etc) is much more worse off than one in Florida simply because of the terrain, climate etc

In Philly homeless people can be a Target for dumbass young people looking to fukk with random people

At least in Florida they don't have to worry about sleeping outside in 0° weather with no blankets

so homeless people don't have to worry about getting caught up in 90+d degree weather, so getting sunstroke, the body overheating is better than freezing to death - :ohlawd:.. ???? the results are the same. being homeless or going without in any climate is a problem, not having nothing is worse in any city, any state in Amerikkka.

And those areas of crazy overrated.

They will fill you in jail for a million years Years for almost whatever.

The Hispanics in all three of those cities are crazy:mjpls::mjpls::mjpls:.

A lot of women Florida I really don't take care of themselves.

The native black people have a better relationship with the poor white people than I've seen in other states in the South though. Florida is weird like that.

Your more than likely to see white person friends with a black person and some parts of Florida the other places in the south. Again I haven't been everywhere in the south...

That was my florida experience.
When I got put there, I saw that EVERYONE was poor.
Black, white or mexican...they're all poor. This is in the smaller towns like quincy, gretna, etc...
People worked together to make sure everyone ate and had someplace to stay.
Maybe that's what's needed to get these cacs off their high horse...
Breakdown society completely so they realize they don't own shyt when it comes down to it...and they ain't gonna make it without us.

What you guys are really describing are a lot of red states. And a large part of that stems from cutting education and over taxing businesses. It creates lots of problems.

I still haven't forget about this and I'm going to do it. I feel everything you're saying except for the bolded...NO, there is not a lack of resources. The only resource I used to get started was the ultimate resource, which is GOOGLE. We have all the resources at our fingertips and all we gotta do is put our thoughts or what we want to know in the search field. No one personally gave me tips or steered me in the right direction. I put my thoughts into Google and got busy

What up bruh, I seen you on my other post about 2 full time jobs as well.

Maybe I should just work online instead, I don't need you to write the whole process now, but do you know what websites I should go on to get started or learn how to start freelancing and stuff?

I was looking at some freelance sites and they're talking about paying people 400 dollars a month for 40 hours a week. No way in hell.

I'm just kind lost on how I can do this and what sites to go on, and how many hours to put in to work because some sites say you work a lot for very little, like $2 an hour.

I know you're a busy dude, but I figured I'd ask how could I start on this, where to go, and some links to sites.

It's cool if you don't have time, but I appreciate it brother.

Go to Clickworker, Odesk, Upwork, Transcribe Me, Textbroker...I don't work for pennies; Even when I started. You set your own price, depending on skills you have.

It depends on the day. Usually I work between 6-8 hours. If there's something I want (not need) that costs a couple hundred then I'll work longer. If you are a good writer and know how to write keyword-filled blog posts then you can make a killing on Textbroker.

I'm taking a break from a transcription that I'm doing right now that's $8 for a 20 minute transcription. If you have typing skills that's a $16/hour job from your crib (and I'm slow at about 80wpm so I can only imagine what some of the rest are making). No gas money spent, you can cook your own lunch, nobody in your ear about nothing, you can take a break whenever you want, you can leave the house...

Supplement that with something like a referral program, affiliate marketing, PPC, or any other kinda hustle and you're well on your way to $20 an hour (I'm not quite there yet but give me time).
