Insurance companies are aware of climate change even if Florida's government isn't. Florida is projected to get it HARD from climate change (more flooding and severe hurricanes). And these insurance companies are factoring it in.

Brehs FL is trash. Like no joke. It’s just trash. My insurance went from 3k to 10k in 1 year. My neighbor insurance company cancelled his because a tree was too tall. They just decided to cancel. No notice nothing. He shopped around until he found one that said they would cover it but the insurance deductible gonna be 15% or 15k meaning he better have 15k at least if his home gets damaged. If the damaged is less he gets nothing.

All this because of Fat ass Ron Deshamtis aka salami boy. fukk that POS

The kicker is they can cancel the policy at anytime though. That’s what happened last year. The policies got cancelled 2 hrs before the hurricane hit. Trash ass fukking state man

What did DeSantis do with respect to insurance companies? Give them free reign?

The law was signed and passed.

“House Bill 837 would be catastrophic to Florida families,” said Edward Reyes, founder of The Reyes Firm in Tampa, which represents clients on a number of issues including personal injury, auto accidents, wrongful death and more. “Imagine having to tell a grieving mother that she cannot seek compensation from a driver whose reckless behavior took her child’s life. Imagine having your entire home destroyed by a hurricane, only to have your insurance company deny a claim or low-ball their offer. And imagine if there were nowhere to turn for help. Those nightmare scenarios could become reality under this legislation.”

Breh. My insurance company was kind enough to let me know of those laws and why they were moving away from FL. I’m also an independent adjuster and I could tell you this shyt is real here. Lotta companies leaving and I think it’s on purpose because the ones left can do whatever they want since there’s scarcity.
Whats your view on being an independent adjuster?

As an agent in the state, I want to clear some of this up.

Ins in Florida is ass. It's beyond broken.

But, you can't be cancelled without 30 days notice.

Everyone to complains about some shyt like this? They're lying. 100% lying. :pachaha:

What REALLY happens is ins companies send out cancellation notices (for bullshyt or legit reasons, usually bullshyt) but people ignore them or don't take them seriously until it's too late.

Want to know something else?

The rate increases we're seeing right now got approved before the last two storms :pachaha:

These rates are a response to carriers leaving the state BEFORE the death and destruction came twice last fall. There's going to be an even BIGGER correction this year.

is insurance cheaper if you buy a condo in a highrise?

I haven't kept up with his insurance related moves during his entire stint as governor but last week he did pass a law that was very favorable to insurance companies
