DeSantis will be begging for money in a few days. While I understand there's a campaign going on and Harris isn't POTUS....she's clearly heavily involved and if she wins her admin will be handling most of the cleanup process by January. This should be a no brainer. Talk to the government, put your hat out for money, receive money, thank the administration and get to work.
The impression I get is that Trump is telling republican governors how to handle this. He doesn't want a repeat of 2012 when Chris Christie was out there hugging Obama during the last weeks of that election. But at the end of the day....Christie did the right thing. He got everything he needed for his state.
