They connect with Trump because he is as addicted to grievance and vindictiveness as they are. He is the real deal, he's not pretending.
DeSantis may be an a$$hole, but his grievance is manufactured for effect. Their heads may tell them DeSantis, but their hearts will forever be with Trump.

This surgeon general is a whole clown. On a national stage desantis is going to have to address why he brought in an anti vaxxer as his surgeon general.
He leaned into anti COVID hysteria too much with that move and in 2023/2024 this type of move will be seen as more of a fringe position.
This shyt is highly alarming. If it comes to fruition, then we might see more red states do the same....
The entire Congress, Senate and Presidency could be blue but it wouldn't matter because red states can enforce their rule with their own "state guards"....
Who knows what DeSantis would do as the head officer of all the US military....he's already showed a willingness to make it illegal to criticize public officials and basically exhibiting blatantly dictatorial behavior....
Maybe he's the guy the "elites" want to usher in the NWO....his political momentum doesn't seem to be organic aside from the caucasian panic that has legitimized his school of thought on fascist policy....
