This is a ridiculous topic - people that believe in a flat earth, go ahead and prove it. Do experiments, write legitimate documents with proveble and reproduceable data, get them peer reviewed - the onus is on you to prove it.

If you manage to prove the Earth is flat you’ll change the course of human history as well as the sciences. Go ahead and do it.

Incorrect

"Sea level" is, on average, the same everywhere, because water always seeks it's level

If the sea rises in one place, it has fallen in another place simultaneously, meaning the overall sea level is the same

So it is never truly level due to its constant movement

But my point is how are you suppose to conduct the experiment with water conditionally moving?

Water always seeks it's own level

First you have to understand what that means

Then after you understand that, you should ask heliocentrists why THEY thought that conducting this experiment on water would prove that the earth is a globe, since you yourself(a heliocentric theorist) seem to be skeptical

THEY used water because THEY believed it to be the smoothest surface to conduct the experiment on

All I said was that if the experiment is going to be recreated, it should be recreated EXACTLY how it was conducted the first time, which was over level water

:mjlol: you have no idea what you're talking about my guy

The bold is just more religious talk

"I'll only believe what you're saying if my science priests have ordained it so":mjlol:

You have to be a special kind of idiot to actually debate a flat earther :russ:

Just roast them and keep it moving. Most of them are trolling and the rest are OBVIOUSLY mentally handicapped.

You can say anything is anything with conviction. :mjlol:

So now are y'all gonna let someone on y'alls own side insult y'all?

Look at the arrogance in this post

How is it any different than how the rest of y'all have been trying to talk down to me?

They are only using water level as a way to measure height though. Water call never be level. Even the term sea level is just short hand for mean sea level.

Ok

And I agree

Again, I'm just saying that they should have recreated the experiment exactly and they didn't

Water also always finds its level

Unless you can point out an instance of water curving while in a cup(which you cant) that means that water/liquid is the flattest surface available to work with, whether it moves or not

:mjlit: explain why there is a meniscus

:mjlit: explain why there is a meniscus

A concave meniscus, which is what you normally will see, occurs when the molecules of the liquid are attracted to those of the container. This occurs with water and a glass tube. A convex meniscus occurs when the molecules have a stronger attraction to each other than to the container, as with mercury and glass

What is a meniscus and how do you read it?
The meniscus (plural: menisci, from the Greek for "crescent") is the curve in the upper surface of a liquid close to the surface of the container or another object, caused by surface tension. It can be either concave or convex, depending on the liquid and the surface.
Surface tension
the tension of the surface film of a liquid caused by the attraction of the particles in the surface layer by the bulk of the liquid, which tends to minimize surface area.
Which means that matter tends to fall in on itself

Kind of like a building marked for destruction and professionally wired with explosives falls in on itself

So either the container is charged or there is enough surface tension to create the concave meniscus

Notice how the water is still flat/level at the very top though:mjgrin:
