The factories that produced the items also either manufactured the competitors' items or had the ability to make replicas. That is why you can buy cheap nike stuff at flea markets. They don't have the marketing overhead costs and they probably won't do much QC, if any.

If you're buying nike knockoffs for 5x the cost of real nikes, how is it anything but a charity line? You are essentially just donating money to Lavar Ball at that point.
