This shyt is crazy.

I kinda agree with whoever said it was probably because he was a holdover from when hot97 wasn't a hip-hop station and he just stuck around since he was probably good at what he did. Now that doesn't absolve those who were real close with him, like Angie Martinez because they weren't just colleagues. Notice how all of us are shocked that it's the same guy and we've heard that station for years and never put it together. I could see how some people there couldn't have connected the dots, but some people had to know SOMETHING.
Ed Lover got hired in 1993 and he said Paddy Duke wasn’t there he came a year later and was hired in 1994

I don't think there was a grand cover up. CAC probably knew some people at the station and he got a job. Have some of y'all really seen how these CACs get hired? They thoroughly background check US. A homeless CAC could be your supervisor tomorrow with a shower, a suit, and fake resume with Ivy league credentials.

From what I've read he was hired after the station already transitioned over to Hot97.

It’s good that he’s fired but station should be boycotted

they knew

That's what I'm saying there should be hundreds of Black Men and Women at the station right now outside, bringing light to this, demand answers and let all their sponsors we boycotting not only the station but every company that sponsors them

and back then it probably wasn't as thorough of a background check as it is now. If everyone knows you as Paddy Duke in the building and you're there conducting yourself well and reppin the station well, nobody's gonna go in there like Kareem from New Jack City wondering where they saw you before.

I didn't even know he still worked for them. That's how long ago I listened to Angie Martinez's show. He was her wingman at her absolute peak during her 3pm time slot.

The wild shyt is that this goes back over 25 years, so all those people who used to work at Hot97 went to some other hip-hop station and if they knew, didn't say shyt. Now all his ex colleagues are gonna act shocked when they might have known to save their own asses.

When all this was first brought to light, a lady named Nicole (maybe Natalie, I don’t recall ) who worked for Emmis/Hot97 tweeted that she was told this information about Paddy, however she didn’t do anything about it. In my opinion how many other people know and didn’t do anything about it because they didn’t want to rock the boat, or lose their job? How many other Paddy’s are employed in the entertainment industry?

In my opinion there appears to be a lot of bystander behavior in the entertainment industry where people assume someone else will say something, and don’t want to speak up unless they are directly affected by a situation. Why is that?

This is the conversation we should be having today.

There was a guy at my job I used to see every week, dap him up, converse briefly, and years later I found out he was one of the Central Park 5. No one knew. Point is you meet your coworkers on a clean slate. You don't know people's backgrounds so I can see how people wouldn't know. Know one's doing their own background checks.

You're welcome to project manager that chief.
Maybe you can telemarket and round up the hundreds, I'll write the telephone pitch,
" Not giving a fukk about your job, family or free time recently? I've got the remedy, join me and hundreds of other Black men to protest outside a radio station because they had a racist on the payroll just like every other company in the country. They did fire him, but not good enough. We need to bring this station down as well as their advertisers!" :mjlol:
