I'll give you DC has talent (not like Tidewater though), but Haden, Arrington, DHB, and Barnes are all Maryland folk. NoVa isn't much of a recruiting hotbed.

Most of the VA talent is in the Tidewater region. Hampton Roads, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Norfolk, Newport News; those towns. Richmond spawns a lot of talent too. Maybe you'll find a few other good players in Lynchburg and Culpeper. But Alexandria, Dale City, or Front Royal up in NoVa? Nah, there's nothing but track athletes up there.

Front Royal might as well be West VA cause that's not NoVa...

Alexandria,Woodbridge,Manassas have all been putting out quality talent.

Ryan Willians and Brandon Hogan are from Manassas and went in the 2nd and 4th round last year.

I didn't mention Maryland for a reason. I know PG County and the surrounding area produces athletes. Lot of good high schools like Good Counsel and Roosevelt.

Nobody cares about Dumfries, Fairfax, or Alexandria though.

Look at the top VA HS prospects from any recruiting service. Chances are most of those guys are coming from Richmond or the Tidewater region. Then its Lynchburg or Fork Union.

what we both are probably agreeing to is that NoVA aint shyt when it comes to producing football players. DC, PG County, and MoCo have done a good job.

Florida State and Pedo State used to raid this area for talent while UMD wanted nothing to do with anyone that is a top talent locally.

Then you have Bmore as well and central Maryland which has produced a lot of players.

i was at the game yesterday and sh*t was embarassing. Alot of people in my section left when it was like 6 minutes left in the 2nd quarter. Dumb decision to hire edsall. he wasn't sh*t at uconn either.

Lowkey, i think it's more of an issue of what they want the image of UMD to be..

seems like they trying to go the Duke Basketball route in recruiting.. without any of the results...just to say they recruit good kids, and to avoid a "thug" aura of the team

on everything, UMD should have first dibs on all talent from DC, PG, Baltimore and even Northern VA.


So what if your squad looks like they could be getting off at Anacostia,Benning Rd,or Deanwood... it's better to have a UF/FSU/ Miami atmosphere and be a winner...than to have good character kids and never win shyt.

He said MD doesnt recruit in state heavily because they want players who dont know the area therefore they wont get/cause too much trouble. In state players will know to me many ppl and have a more likelihood of having behavorial problems. When he told me this I was just .

UMD/College Park got one of the worst prostitution problems in the state/region....and they're on that type of shyt.
