NYC (but PGH will forever be home)
The QB is not good either

The best QB on the roster is the 7th worst in league. And Mitch is some how even worse.

I'm a big Tomlin fan, and he definitely deserves criticism (for even drafting Kenny, poor coordinators), but people pretending like this roster is somehow competitive, and should be better than 7-7 is beyond me.

When the team was 7-4, that was a miracle in coaching and supreme luck. In my opinion, this team is simply reverting to its mean.

Hell, being .500 with awful QB play still pretty impressive, but we all know that MT is graded much more harshly than others.

Exactly!!

The amount of big games that Cowher lost

The playoff games that the Steelers blew AT HOME

The Charger playoff game in 1994

The Patriots AFC Championship games

The 1997 loss at home to the Broncos

The Broncos were a great team but Kordell Stewart blew that game
:mindblown:
Those Patriots AFC championship games took literally years off my life.

I swear I would get so fukking mad because we just could not stop them. It was infuriating. I had to actually stop caring so much about football. It was a unnecessary stress

Our offense is so fukking pedestrian. It is really a chore to watch. It is amazing how bad our schemes are. I am no football expert by any mean.

But simply looking at other teams it is amazing how they can at times easily play pitch and catch with logical plays. They can actually run the ball effectively even in obvious running situations.

Certain fanbases are entitled and think they're supposed to be Super Bowl every year despite the limitations of their roster. He spent years with a washed Big Ben who couldn't push the ball down the field and now has a 1st round pick at QB who isn't any good. Then you back him up with one of the biggest draft busts.

I've been saying for the last few years that Tomlin needs to leave for his own good. Not that he should've been fired but he should have walked away, took a year off, did TV, and chose the best job available. He's just been there too long and needs a change of scenery because the front office isn't getting him a QB to compete with Lamar/Burrow, they draft head case WR's, and a coach can only go so long in one place before his voice gets drowned out. Compound that with being in Pittsburgh where they aren't going to fully support a black coach:mjpls:

Getting fired would be good for him. He'd be a great fit in Atlanta, Washington, or New Orleans.

His failures as a coach are hidden by how superior the Steelers org is

You fire him he gets exposed the next place he goes and the Steelers keep being a top shelf organization.

This team isn't fun to watch at all. Other than watching Watt get after the quarterback there's really nothing to get excited about. Pickett is pedestrian and risk averse, Trubisky is trash and refuses to not throw off his back foot all the damn time. Najee misses holes that open up and still gets more carries than Warren who is more decisive and explosive. At WR we got Pickens, a talented headcase who we don't throw the ball to and is now not giving full effort, Johnson, our best route runner who still has a tendency to run backwards after catching the ball in an attempt to pick juke people and pick up more yards, Calvin Austin, our speedy receiver who other than the bomb against Oakland hasn't done anything of note, although it's probably playcalling/scheme and poor QB play(he was open in the endzone on the play Pickett got hurt on against Arizona) At TE we got Freiermuth, a good recieving TE who we don't consistently take advantage of down the seam. He's also a piss poor inline blocker who'll get his ass handed to him should he be expected to block. Darnell Washington, our huge TE who we pretty much only ask to block and only really throw him little 5 yd passes and don't scheme nothing for him should we get to the endzone

Oline we need a center and a RT. Jones should be playing his natural position at LT over Dan Moore which speaks to coaching. Kevin Dotson was a RG in college, they draft him, put him at LG where he wasn't as effective, trade him to LA who puts him back at his natural RG position where he's doing well. Same thing with Kendrick Green. They draft him as Pouncey's heir apparent at center, even though he played guard in college. He struggled immensively and was cut, picked up by the Texans where he was doing well at guard before he was injured for the year. Coaching. Whether you want to put that on Tomlin or the O-line coach:yeshrug:

On defense there are some pieces there, but we need more. Watt, Highsmith, Benton, JPJ, Fitzpatrick are quality. Pat Peterson and Levi Wallce are washed. All the injuries at ILB have hurt us pretty bad. Pressly Harvin is a boom or bust punter who's good for a shank when we need a good punt. Boz is Boz.

The organization is overall stale and has been running on fumes for awhile now. I think that Omar Khan in his first draft last year hit on Jones, Benton, JPJ, and Herbig. Corey Trice was another one who I was looking forward to seeing how he turned out, but he got hurt in traning camp.

It's important to note Kenny Pickett was a Kevin Colbert pick. Khan may want his own guy and with Pickett not progressing/Trubisky making way too much for what he contributes I wouldn't be surprised to see a QB drafted at some point this year.

Everything you wrote is fukking facts

I think the brain trust is to egotistical at times. They insist on moving players from their natural positions and plugging them into to others and wonder why they play subpar

I fully don’t understand how you can be a round 1 picked veteran qb and have terrible mechanics. How is that even possible at this level? I know high school qb’s who do not throw off their back foot like he does.

Why not just put Broderick at his position. He is better than Dan Moore flat out. We desperately need a center. mason was serviceable last year. He has regressed this year and this is with two good veteran guards beside him

As far a Tomlin goes, I'm a fan but the results just haven't been there. Losing back to back weeks to teams with 2 wins aint it. 3 playoff wins in 10 yrs isn't good enough. Never having a losing season is whatever. It's not like we were real contenders all of those years. They've been mid since 2017

2017: 13-3 L in the divisional round
2018: 9-6-1 no playoffs
2019: 8-8 no playoffs(Ben elbow injury)
2020: 12-4(lose last 4 out of 5 games after starting 11-0, get stomped at home against Cleveland in the wildcard round after losing the previous week to them)
2021: 9-7-1 L in the wildcard
2022: 9-8 no playoffs

There's a couple more 8-8 seasons in there(2012, 2013) and a 9-7(2009)

His contract is up after next season I believe so I think he'll either get extended this off season or be allowed to explore other options. I don't think he'll go into next year as a lame duck coach. I think he'll get extended. I wouldn't be mad at it but he has to change with the times. He has to stop letting things slide with Pickens and Jonhson. Okorafor was benched at RT because of something he said to the coaches which turned out to be

"Okorafor was upset the offense was using the same plays despite trailing the entire game, including 17-3 in the third quarter," Dulac writes. "It is unclear to whom Okorafor directly vented his anger and what else might have been said or done."
But Pickens plainly stating he didn't finish his block on the Warren run because he didn't want to get hurt and you already said he's gonna play:dwillhuh:

Gotta get better assistants in there first and foremost. We went from guys like dikk LeBeau, Bruce Arians, Todd Haley, Darryl Drake(R.I.P), Richard Mann and Mike Munchak, to guys like Randy Fichtner, Matt Canada, Pat Meyer, etc. Canada was a bum who should have never been brought back. They finally fire him but his playbook remains because it was too late to make real changes:snoop:

Tomlin needs to
1: Get a real QB
2: Get better assistants
3: Tighten the reigns more. Guys are too comfortable

Trubisky kills me with that shyt. That fool will have no pressure and still fade backwards while throwing off his back foot:mindblown:

Can't wait till he's off this team:ohlawd:
