I could see this team missing the playoffs next season esp if anyone has any sig injury time...His point is a good one, take advantage of the moment...
great young core, a smart GM that isn't afraid to make moves and routinely finds gems in the draft, play in the East.

barring a run of catastrophic injuries, this team is right back in the thick of things next season. don't really get the comparisons to the oldest team in NBA history that featured JR fukking Smith as the second best player

Lowkey thing thats pisses you off about this team is again they prove the naysayers right..They never prove anyone wrong.

All the people that shat on this team all year and before this year get to gloat now and for the 1000th time we got to eat it cuz this team never has the balls to come through...I been shytting on everyone for 2 weeks now i gotta eat crow cuz Terrence Ross and these passive aggressive fakkits couldnt hold a 3-2 lead...

I hope that atlantic banner catches fire in the offseason...

The comparison was to the fact this teams success doestn equate next years success...You had a 3-2 with HC dont save face by using every cliche in the book...You lost way few teams do in a game 7 at home because you lack alot of things including manhood.

I just hate hearing about the future and next year and it was a great run and we overachieved...im a raptor fan breh that shyt sounds like charlie browns teacher to me in 2014...

Look at the bigger picture. We'll get there.

Doesnt negate this team blew it...Im not worried about next year.

By the time Jonas reaches his ceiling we might be back to a 30 win team floundering again.
We had an opportunity and we blew it...

What difference would it have made if we won this game and then gotten swept by the Heat? This season was to gain playoff experience, and we did exactly that in a tough 7 game series. We saw what we had and what we need. We have a player in Valanciunas who is a star in the making. We have two stars in Derozan and Lowry who will continue to get better. Someone like T-Ross goes into this summer motivated and wanting to get better after having what was a very bad series. Masai isn't going to play around, he's going to make solid moves and we will contend in a few years. This was just the first step in what is a long way to go.

The difference is we actually win a series which never do and were on ABC the next weeks against miami.
Im not even going into the rest of ur post,i hate the bullshyt cliche great season and the experienced helped us....i deal in facts none of that shyt is factual,it may benefit us,we may not the playoffs next year...We dotn know what Lowry is gonna do and im very doubtful about Val being a star in this league...

This was an opportunity lost and trying to spin it into something more valuable than that is raptor talk from yesteryear thats meaningless..you remember when 2007 loss was supposed to be valuable experience ?

and I'm not a Raptor fan, which means I'm not flooded with feelings of anger and disappointment right now and able to see the things objectively. :heh:

allow me to reiterate: you play in THE EAST. you have a good core that's only going to get better, a decent coach and a competent front office. most teams in the East have only one of these things, two if they're lucky. :heh:

dudes need to stop acting like the Macro variables in the east/league will be the same. Thinking that raps making changes will propel them to further heights next year, all else being equal. All else will not be equal next year, especially in the east. The east had one of the worst years from a record & injury perspective. If rose was in and healthy all season, we wouldn't have gotten 3rd. Celtics traded away their whole team and will be making major moves off season, and a lot of teams str8 up tanked to make it a race to the bottom in hopes of gaining from one of the best drafts it looks like we'll have in the past 5 years.

Raps need to get right, or get left. There is a damn good reason they went nowhere for the past 7 years. We got very lucky with that Rudy deal, with things working out how they did, but again, all else will not be equal from the macro perspective next year. Knicks/Phil already plottin, Celtics plottin, Nets billionaire will prob just buy more ppl and pay more tax, he gives no fuks, and who knows what will happen with Rose & the bulls.

blow it up.

Don't pick up amirs option
Hire Lionel hollins or Stan van gundy
Package Ross or deroza. With the 20th pick and try and try and get in the lottery.

Sign Greg monroe

Sign Lowry

Resign Patterson and vasquez
:whoa:

I'd rather have Derozan and the 20th overall than having something like the ninth pick. Not even close. Top-three or maybe top-five pick, I'd entertain, but just some random lottery, nah.

Team reminds me of the squad that lost to the knicks in the first round. Next year they came back and beat them. That was with TMac leaving. If Lowry stays, this team will be fine. Winning today would have been great, but let's be honest, Miami would have destroyed them.

There's no convincing Miggs that this core is good. Raptors biggest flaw was lacking a sf. Ross/Demar aren't strong enough yet, Salmons/Fields/Novak are all a liabilty on one side of the court and cost the team. That small upgrade would have won the series.

Next year will answer a lot of questions about the core. Do JV and Ross improve and show the core is legit? Does Demar take another step and solidify that corner three, plus grow within a team game? Can't wait for next season and Raptor fans haven't had reason for optimism in a long ass time.

Why would you be convinced, alot of holes showed...Again we dont know what will happen next season,im going on what i just saw and im not convinced its a great core based on what i saw...

Ill thnk about next season in Sept right now im thinking about how this team blew a 3-2 series lead at home cuz they couldnt play more than 1 decent quarter...

This team dont remind me of 2001 at all, this team reminds me of the 2007 team that was jumpshot happy, settled for bad possessions and played no D whatsoever and thats exactly what the 07 team was...and i remember all the optimism after that series that we made it and all the steps we were going to take from the experience and it landed us exactly one 1st round exit in 6 years...

Play for tomorrow brehs

Yep you never know what will happen the following year you have to take advnatage in the moment...

You had homecourt and a 3-2 series lead...i dont understand where the moral victory comes in...
I hate that about this organization and fanbase, its always about tomorrow..old adage is tmw is not guaranteed...

This is true though. There are many young teams in history who looked like they were on the verge of something greater in the future and nothing else happened after. Look at the 08' Hornets for example.

D sucked mostly cause they had no one to cover Joe Johnson. Doubled him and it got open looks for their shooters. They caught fire and lit the Raptors up in the first half. Casey sucks at making in game adjustments and I would like him gone but he's probably staying. Entire series changed when Nets started to iso joe up top. That was end of the 5th game and Raptors never recovered from that. It's why they blew the series. Nets made a key adjustment and Raps had no answer for it.

I think Val and Ross will get better next year. You don't see them doing much more. Just gotta wait until next year and see what happens, I guess.

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
We dont want Gasol :camby:

If you're re-signing Lowry you won't have room for much else, he's the best PF on the market that you realistically could get and would provide scoring and a veteran presence. He could be to your roster what David West is to the Pacers.

You want Amir gone, you plan on starting Patrick Patterson all year, getting one with a late first rounder or luring away a young star, which is something you've never been able to do? Gasol makes sense, and since you have the Knicks pick who will undoubtedly be awful in 2016 it isn't that big of a risk.

The D was alot worse than just ISO Joe,they stunk in every facet of defending this series. They didnt help, they didnt rotate...even today first half how many wide open uncontested jump shots you see the nets take ? The D issue is way more complex than just what we didnt do on Joe...

My point is look at the Knicks situation, its not crazy to think that could be us next year with other teams in the east getting better or healthy...
Val can get much better on both ends im not sure about Ross, very bad series...still need to see so much more before you can say hes a good young core piece,he might wind up being a 6th man in few years if he doesnt start growing a pair instead of hiding on the perimeter...

I find it hard to optimistic with this score losing the way they just did...You can grow but you can lose continually this same way if you dont have winners...

This core has glaring holes that you need to fix before im optimistic about this team going forward...
