it was a long road trip that took its toll on the guys. if you can judege the team off the last three games and not the previos 20+ then yo clearly have an agenda

Read the posts my obsos are based on this entire season,theyve had TWO impressive wins out of 24 that should concern any fan...They had an easy early season sked and got lucky against team missing key players early in the season....Theyve stunk against all elite teams (Chicago,Dallas,GS,Portland) thats 0-5 and got there doors blown off in 4 of them...But here we go lets blame the fact it was a long road trip...Fanbase and media here has the same losers mentality.

Good teams dont blame road trips,had nothing to do with the fact we no showed the last 2 games....blame the road trip,blame our youth,blame our health...No we sucked we showed what we truly are a shytty defensive team thats going to have mad issues in April when those long jumpers aint falling and we cant stop nobody....

You really feel that confident about this team against anybody when the D is so bad ? Any team in this league could get hot and stick 120 on us,we havent played winning basketball in well over a month man...Way bigger than 3 games.

you are worried about the team beating teams that are healthy but we've been without our best player for over a month... how is that a fair way to assess the team?

and notice how the teams defense has changed since demar went out? cuz as much as alot of you guys hate on Demar, his defense was pretty good, but he really made a difference on the offensive end which helped the defense as well.
he made it so guys didn't have to give so much energy jsut to score(Lowry,etc) him getting to the line also really helped the team get setup on defense.
His play is big. Take ANY teams best player and they will have problems.

Demar is NOT our best player this season....Kyle is.Games that were losing im not sure how much of an impact DD would have had...We were getting killed by Dallas,Chicago with him,our problem is defense right now esp on this road trip how much do you think Demar would have alleviated that ?? Hes not a good defender and hes horrible and keeping his man in front of him...

I'm as much of a Raptor fan as the next guy but I can't put too much hope into this. The teams we beat without DeRozan have been garbage. We are the beneficiaries of a soft schedule. Yeah we have beat the Hawks twice, we've also been decimated by the Bulls twice, got stomped out by Cleveland and got wrecked by GS and Phx. Its not enough to say "hey we have a good record" we have to go out there and compete with the top teams in the league.

IM not upset,im just not going overboard right now on this teams record and standing in the conference,it honestl doesnt matter if they win 50 games and finish 2nd or 3rd.....It matters that they start beating quality teams with quality dominating performances on both sides of the ball and were not seeing that....This team could win 55 games finish 1st and id still feel uneasy playing whoevers 8th because our defense has so many holes in it...

Shades of last season and 07 creeping in again (win the division and fold in the 1st round)

We will finish with more wins this season and probably a higher seed but we had way more quality wins at this point last season,i kinda took last regular season for granted cuz the ending sucked...BUT we beat alot of good teams last year at full strength sumn we just cant do right now...

Our D from January to end of February last year was so good and just a year later with identical parts is complete opposite...104 Points against is 3rd worst in the entire east man,think of all the shytty teams in this conference that dont allow as much....

Shoule be concerned and its mad naive to think it will just change for no reason...with the same personnel...

Beating Milwaukee by 40+
Comeback win in Cleveland by 17
@Boston without JV and Amir
@Denver on a back-to-back without DeRozan

Plus we've beat ATL twice. With DeMar back hopefully we can get things together and take them out again next Friday.

First 4 were against bummy ass teams,im not impressed by beating up on bummy ass teams esp at home.....Outside MIL and WSH who did we whoop for 48 mins at home ?

ATL No ORL No CHI No Mem No Alot of those wins we won by the skin of our teeth...You remember being down 10 to ORL in the 4th qtr ?
Almost blowing a 20 pt lead opening night YEEEEP we've had too many of THOSE type of games....Its defense man,our D doesnt allow us to put teams away....

beating milwaukee by 40 is impressive? I forgot the Bucks were elite.

We beat Cleveland once and they beat us twice. So impressive.

and they had to go in the tank for the entire second half of that first game or we'd be 0-3 against Cleveland...

Lets gloss over the fact we were were trailing the Celtics for 3 quarters by basically double digits and had to pull a fukkn rabbit out of our ass in the 4th to win by 5....

Our D has been weak but getting DeRozan back will help there. The more we have to play Lou and Vasquez the worse our defense will be. They're also contributing to us being one of the best offenses in the league so it's not like they're bringing nothing to the table.

The_One makes a good point. The Raptors are beating the teams they are supposed to beat for the most part. Now once they get some playoff experience and start beating the elite teams they'll be legit contenders.

I say that because its kind of a big deal if a 55 win team gets put out by an 7-8 seed who might finish under .500 in the east this year...Its never too early to worry about a teams horrid defensive habits when its leading to a streak of 12 or more straight games where your giving up 100 points and 50 % shooting,its ok to worry about that in January IMO...

and a team as bad as us defensively can be put out early,despite our regular season win totals....Which is basically the point some of us are making.

What games are you watching where he was a good defender ?

IM one of the biggest demar supporters in this thread but thats not a point i would ever co-sign...Hes NEVER been a good defender.
Hes slow footed and dim witted defensively....He had a few games where he had some steals but that dont mean hes now a good defender at his position lol....

I think you are overeacting abit, jsut like alot of other raps fans
we know they can play good defense with Demar back, lets worry about the team later.

and I'm not sure why you guys are complaining about close WINS!! , Good teams lose to bad teams all the time. so lets not pretend like winning close games to bad teams is such a bad thing.

I don't understand what you aren't getting though.
this is NOT the same team that will be playing in the playoffs right now(barring injury of course) Demar back will change alot.

ever since last year he has been an above average defender. You need to start paying more attention to his improivement. Plus when he is in the whole teams defense is better.

He's not Tony Allen by any means but he has shown that he is a very capable defender.

I think you guys are so stuck on the fact that players can't ever change, but Derozan has been proving you guys wrong EVERY YEAR.
ever since he came in to the league he has improved on something each offseason.
