The return isn't worth it anymore.

Just put it in a savings account and stack it till you can find something worthwhile. Property is a good bet.

Everyone talking about 401k's.. I hope you have Roth IRA's.

Personally I would just put it aside for real estate these days but if you're getting matched by your company why not.

thanks for the reply and also thanks to the other poster who answered me i pos repped both of ya. dont have roth ira's or 401ks just got money in a saving account i dont touch trying to make it sweat u feel me? heard CD's were good reason i asked

whats a good credit union in nyc?

Not a credit union but I use chase since I got tired of getting nickle and dimed across the whole city.
Open 7 days a week and they have the most branches in the city.

CD rates back in 06-08' used to be like 8-12% laugh

Theyre lucky to be in the 1% range now though

try and set aside like 75-100k then look into buying a house or apartment

wash rinse repeat with loans

Brehs probably a stupid question. But you ever pay for something at a store with your debit card and they ask do you want to donate to so and so charity? If you do does that show up on your tax return?

You have to report it on your taxes and unless it's a large amount it wont make a difference. It's nice to be able to give when you can though..

Lets talk about Universal/Whole life insurance.

I just spoke with a guy that showed me charts if I buy in now, I can get a 8.2% return, can draw from it anytime, and can still get my death benefit as well.

Is this too good to be true?

I'd be looking at the fine print on that one before I bought into that...

There are payout calculators/premiums paid to see if it'd be a good thing for you too on the net you might want to check out. Whole/permanents is the premiums paid until you go, you have dependents like that? or a spouse?

Have you looked at term ones and compared? Life insurances agents can be slick ones, I know an old friend was one :upsetfavre:, she was always trying to sell me something. Calculator: How much life insurance do you need? . Just do your due diligence.

If you are taking student loans, never take out private loans. Make sure you pay off your unsubsidized loans while in school. Apply for FAFSA. Use fast web to find scholarships. Check to see if your state provides grants and apply if you have to. Follow your course requirements. Attempt to test out if they try to add on unnecessary classes.

you dont get rich by saving money. you get rich by investing money.:shaq:

and own your own business :russ:

true.. it takes money to make money but finding the right investment or business is not as easy as it sounds. This is the holy grail of capitalism. from the richest 1% guy to the poorest guy in the hood- everybody is on the hunt for the sure bet investment. The Hebrews thought that their fellow brother Bernie Madoff was the sure fire investment return specialist, it didn't turn out that way :manny:
