at the end of the day im just tryna help folks with a little financial advice.

dont save just for a vacation or a car, save to invest in something.

own your own business dont work for someone else.

and link with other like-minded entrepreneurs.

now im sure a lot of people already knew this, but im just as sure a lot of people DIDNT know this, as evidenced by the number of people slaving 40-50 hours a week at a job they hate just so they can live.

I actually tried to support you and your business by asking you to plug it here, shyt if its something good maybe id buy it or invest. My only problem is alot of coli cats come in talking this start your own business like its easy, and thats all the say and offer no actual advice on where to start or or even how to begin. You might as well have come in and said "dont put all your eggs in one basket" or " become rich". I dont know how many times ive walked into a thread and some dude says "start your own busiess". As many times as that has been said on this site, ive never, not once, seen any one promote their business or say what their company does or sells, no links, no products no saying hey coli guys, if you live around me, come by my shop and support me. Im saying, for alll the supposed rich succesfull business men on here, no one ever brings up their business. :manny: Just doesnt add up, . Wasnt there a thread on supporting black owned business. didnt see any one pipe up there either.

Like I said, we are serveral posts in and still no mention of your biz and what you do. You did mention the job where you work for someone else tho. So which is it, Successful business men usually dont work a sidejob for someone else to keep the rent paid and their medical bills in check. Your story dont add up and it dont make sense. I dont even mean to pick on you breh, your just the guy the came in here and added the run your biz nonsense.

If you ever do name your biz, im sure its something like IT firm or consulting, which anyone can really do, which is the the same as when you run into ppl who make shyt in their garage and sell it or run a landscaping company. I dont even wanna shyt on them, but those are things any jerkoff can start.

So w/e breh, do you and keep up the charade,

and then you come in with your willie lynch syndrome on some negative shyt. tryna tear a brotha down

thats worse than a :beli:

im not sure who youre talking about, but i never said owning your own busy was easy or didnt take a lot of work.

i kept it basic and general with my advice because thats where you gotta start... and like i said a lot of people already knew that stuff, but i also know for a fact a lot of people didnt know that stuff.

if youre looking for info on how to start a business then use the web... everything is on the web.

start here: Homepage ... or: Free Sample Business Plans and Business Plan Software - Bplans ... i found those in 15 seconds

if youre looking for specific advice for your particular situation thats a different conversation. like i was sayin you gotta look at your assets and look at your liabilities. look at your environment. analyze your networks and potential opportunities. then most of all what are you interested in, what do you like to do? and then obviously think about what you want to accomplish with your venture, etc.

theres a lot of levels to it. and after you analyze all the data you plan ya work then work ya plan. making adjustment as you go along, etc. and find some people with like minds to work with on your project and get some help, because running a biz is a lot for one person.

anyways, good luck to you... lose than willie lynch bs though

Yes im hating thats what it is, :usure: Another reply from you spouting more generic nonsense. While still refusing to mention your own business :russ::pachaha:

Ive been involved with helping with 3 small business, one being an arcade, a martial arts school and a mini mart. They were not my business but family and friends wanted to start them. Both the arcade and martial arts school failed and the mini mart location was bought up by a chain. So I do have some experience to pull from. Its TONS of work. your most likely to fail and even if you do make enough to stay in business, your not turning profits for a couple years.

The fact your still dodging my questions lets me know what kind of person im dealing, stop trying to paint me as a hater. You tryin to squirm your way out of this conflict, and thats understandable, your lying, got caught, and trying to get out of it without looking bad.

Friend, i wish you the best of luck and will not be responding to any more of your posts. Good day

A lot people say start a business with little to no insight or advice, I look at them as someone who is trying to give out words of wisdom. They might as well say brush your teeth twice a day, because its very generic and superficial.

I'm going into the construction field, so I'm around small business owners all the time from architects, contractors, plumbers, electricians, vendors, real estate agents, print guys, etc...

A successful business is not gonna just fall in your lap. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication, starting a business is definitely not the easy way out of going to college or working for someone.

The sky is the limit when you own your own business, my Architect stays busy because he built up a nice amount of clients and has a lot of repeat business.

Friend, this is all im trying to say, i applaud you for saying these things, i hope your business does well, and the fact you came in here and stated your business and how hard its going to be is all I really asked, this thread is supposed to be tips for young people trying to stay ahead and not get caught up in bullshyt, advice like "start a busiess" and "get rich" :myman: is just silly and not at all helping this thread, i enterd to see what good advice was here, some nice tips, people all ready stated what I would have added, but reading I see this dumb shyt posted and im just like "oh here comes this guy" :usure: spitting that dumb shyt with nothing to add, as you can see I think I made a logical argument on my case, and you see his only recourse was to say im a hater and to dodge all my questions.

Good luck with your future projects friend

Indeed.

This is the main reason why I'm on The-Coli, this is a really good place to network and exchange ideas.

I agree, we need more concrete suggestions, because a lot of times all these guys have to offer is pep talk.

I'm studying Civil Engineering, and after four years of working under an engineer/engineering company I can get my license and work for myself. So, my training allows me to work for myself by opening up my own engineering firm or I can always work for someone. Option is a beautiful thing.

I'm not even knocking LeyeT, I haven't even read his posts, but being specific > being vague.

The best advice for you younger guys is to live within your means. You don't need to go on fancy vacations ever year. You don't need to eat our 3 or 4 times a week. You don't need the latest I-Phone or electronic gizmo. Build up a savings account and invest your money.

as far as budgeting- as i get paid each week- i put a set amount aside to spend(and spend no more), set aside an amount to savings(automatic transfer so i don't use use it)- fill up the gas tank for the week and the rest goes to any bills-sometimes i may pay something earlier to get ahead( even if its only 1/4 of the bill) it helps when later on when other unexpected expenses pop up like car, family or medical issues.

the way my job is, i don't need to bring lunch to work, but if i did- i would bring my own lunch. it saves so much indirectly- $4-5 fast food 5x a week($25/wk, $100/mo $1200/yr) and whatever gas it costs to get it adds up.

what helped me was looking at my online account( bank with USAA) over a week. I seen a lot of unnecessary expenses like eating out, shopping. the budget helps me out and i realized the stuff i was buying is not something you need. i still will treat myself every often though- never want to reach a point of splurging, so i buy things here and there rather than big purchases. a lot of online programs out there can help manage your money and track where you spend it- even your online banking.
